Junior B Abhishek Bachchan says he is glad that he didn’t have to look down at Deepika Padukone while shooting Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, because she is the ‘tallest’ actress to have appeared with him till date.
‘Deepika is the tallest of the ladies I have worked with. I could finally look at my co-actress in the eyes and didn’t have to look down upon her. It was really nice and tall working with her,’ Abhishek, told reporters here.
Abhishek and Deepika, along with director Ashutosh Gowariker and other cast and crew members, were here Monday to promote ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, a film based on the Chittagong Uprising of the 1930s. The film releases Friday.
Dressed in a grey jacket and a pair of jeans to beat the Delhi chill, Abhishek looked dapper with a pair of shades and humbly responded to flying kisses from young girls at a shopping mall.
Deepika too looked graceful in a simple churidaar-kurta paired with golden Kolhapuri slippers.
Responding to a query regarding rumours that she has turned down an offer to work with Shahid Kapoor due to height issues, Deepika said: ‘If that was the case, I won’t be doing any movies at all!’
‘If actors suit the character and the film, it doesn’t matter if the girl is taller than the guy…So really, if directors start getting bothered by my height, I won’t get any film at all.’ Source

Akshaye Khanna’s Role In ‘Tees Maar Khan’ Is Not Just A Special Appearance
Akshaye Khanna may be labelling his role in ‘Tees Maar Khan’ as a ’special appearance’. However, if his director Farah Khan is to be believed, Akshaye has a much integral part to play in this Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer than just being relegated to a special appearance.
“He is truly the surprise element of the film. I guess this is applicable not just for the audience but also Akshaye himself. I am sure he too would be surprised to see his own role in the film. He feels that he isn’t there in the film much but the fact is that he has a strong presence in ‘Tees Maar Khan’,” says Farah in a confident tone.
With the film being less than a month away from release, Farah is throwing an open challenge to her actor who has forever revelled being an underdog right through his career, “Trust me when I say this but Akshaye is the maddest of them all in the film”, she says, “I have told him that I will do ‘taandav’ on his head when he would be walking away with all the rave reviews for the film. He is that special to the film.”
Hope Akshaye too starts believing that soon. Source

Is Malaika Jealous Of Sonakshi Sinha?
Sonakshi Sinha must have had a dream debut opposite Salman Khan but Salman’s bhabhi is not so thrilled with the starlet. At a recently held Sahara India Sports Awards 2010, Sonakshi marked her stage debut with a performance on the iconic Munni Badnaam Hui track originally picturized on Malaika.
Everyone applauded Sonakshi for her first stage act on Munni as she performed with much grace and aplomb. However, sources confirm that Malaika has been quite disturbed about the fact that Sonakshi performed on Munni, when she could have performed on any other song.
Ever since the movie released, Malaika has been spotted in various shows and events across performing on the popular track. However Malaika was not approached for this event and the fact that Sonakshi performed on an iconic track originally featuring her did not go down very well with her.

Kareena Kapoor’s Report Card - Pass Or Fail?
The beautiful and sizzling Kareena Kapoor has indeed come a long way from the time of her debut film Refugee exactly a decade ago. This young and happening star has always swept audiences off their feet with her different roles in every movie that she has worked.
Kareena has the penchant for portraying the most high profile characters with equal panache and style as with her role as the simple village belle which she had portrayed in her debut film.
Kareena’s popularity amongst all age groups of audiences is perhaps her highest point as an achiever in the film industry and the fact that her portrayal of the vivacious Poo in Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham had everyone treating her like a diva was somewhat like a great achievement for the budding star.
However, the path breaking role of the die hard go-getter in Jab We Met made her the ultimate dream star of all directors and film makers, to say nothing of her over whelmed fans. She rocked in the role of a budding spectacled doctor in 3 Idiots, zooming around on a bike too! Kareena is fast turning into the babe with the magic touch as most of the films she does are hits, if not super hits.
Well, the recently released Golmaal 3 has again proved that she is great in the role of a tom boy too, where her co-stars were mostly male who were all also quite well established in their own niche in the world of films. Kareena Kapoor is indeed one of the most versatile actresses of Bollywood today.
Let’s hope she does better and reaches greater heights with her forth coming movies- RA.ONE and Agent Vinod! Source

Shiv Sena Targets Shahrukh Khan Yet Again
Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan is being criticized by the Shiv Sena (SS) and the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) chiefs for hosting a dinner party in London on Sunday for a Pakistani TV Channel where along with the dinner there is a fashion show and a dance show scheduled to be held.
The news appeared in the mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena called Saamna. Shahrukh Khan has been given the wrath of the party chief as it says that while the country is expressing deep pain and paying homage to the martyrs and the victims on the second anniversary of 26/11 attack on Mumbai, how could he go and grace the occasion in support of Pakistan?
Shahrukh Khan, who also has plans of supporting the flood victims of Pakistan, has faced the criticism of going in to support the neighboring country despite such big pains caused by it to India. Shahrukh Khan who has arrived just recently from Berlin to Mumbai is scheduled to participate in the song and dance show to be held in London on Sunday.
Earlier too there were protests by the SS and MNS as Shahrukh Khan had expressed his views against the exclusion of the Pakistani players from the IPL. It remains to be seen what developments take place after this wrath from the SS and MNS chiefs. Source

Katrina Kaif Ignores John Abraham
It is a known fact that there was a time when Katrina Kaif and John Abraham were thick friends. It was during the making of their hit film NEW YORK that John and Katrina warmed up to each other. The chemistry between the two was well received by the critics and the audiences alike.
But things are no longer same between Kat and John. According to reliable sources, “The chemistry between the two has turned sour. At a recent bash, Katrina was seen maintaining a safe distance from John and it was apparent that all was not well between the two stars. Katrina was seen mingling with everyone in the party but made sure that avoided meeting John who also did the same.”
Well, though John and Kat might be heating up their cold war, we wonder how long will it last given the fact that they hold a lot of screen promise together. Any guesses? Source

Madhuri Dixit On ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’
Her last outing ‘Aaja Nachle’ may have failed and she may be based in the US, but that`s not stopping Bollywood`s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit from being part of the evolving entertainment industry in India. Still flaunting flawless skin and an evergreen smile, she says she has no regrets over any film.
The 43-year-old is back in business with what she is best at - dance. She will be judging Sony TV`s reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, and says the failure of ‘Aaja Nachle’ in 2007 didn`t deject her one bit.
“I don`t regret doing anything. When you work in a film, you do it thinking it will turn out well and will do well. But when it doesn`t do well, there`s nothing much you can do about it. So why should I regret anything?” said Madhuri, looking rosy cheeked in an orange and yellow sari.
A resident of Denver, Colorado, where she lives with her husband Sriram Nene and two sons - Arin, 7, and Raayan, 5 - she is out of touch with Bollywood but wants to be part of the changing face of Indian cinema by trying her hand at new genres.
“My choice of scripts will always be based on what appeals to me in a role. Of course, I will be looking for different kinds of roles. It`s tough to say which role I have liked in recent times…but, yes, very different kinds of films are being made these days and it would be great to know what`s out there for me,” Madhuri told reporters in an interview.
She is here for a few months to shoot the reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’which goes on air Dec 12, and plans to flip through scripts during her three-month stay in India, but can`t stay here too long.
“This (Bollywood) is not the only life. I have another life (in the US) and I really love it. I do miss India and my friends here. So it`s like having two homes. When I am here, I miss my husband and children. When I am there, I miss people here.
“I can`t stay long. I send my kids to school, prepare breakfast, shop for vegetables, drop them and pick them from school and all those things. I can do one film and then go, one show and then go, but I can`t take too much on me,” she said.
Madhuri became a formidable name in the film industry with superhits like ‘Tezaab’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Tridev’, ‘Dil’, ‘Saajan’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and ‘Devdas’, and that too without a godfather.
Her dancing prowess, thanks to eight years of training in kathak, has wowed fans in songs like “Ek do teen”, “Humko aajkal hai”, “Dhak dhak”, “Choli ke peechhe”, “Chane ke khet mein”, “Didi tera devar deewana”, “Mera piya ghar aaya”, “Que sera sera” and “Maar daala”.
Even her sons appreciate her songs. “My elder son likes `Ek do teen`…he keeps singing it. They like songs from `Devdas`, `Aaja Nachle`. When I was coming here for `Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa`, they were very excited and said - `Are we going to watch you on TV?`. And I was like, `Yes, you will.`”
Age has not touched her. She is fit as a fiddle and her grace, personality, smile and aura are as youthful as ever. With her kind of looks, no wonder most present day actresses don`t cringe before saying, “Main Madhuri Dixit banna chahti hoon”.
Madhuri blushed and humbly said: “Well, compliments always make you feel good. It`s not that I have come to this stage without doing anything. I have worked really hard to earn this recognition and when one works hard, it is nice to receive such compliments.”
What keeps her in shape?
“Well I do kathak back home. But it depends how much time I have…sometimes I devote an hour, sometimes half an hour. And it does help. Not only is it a physical exercise, it is beneficial spiritually. I like it so much. It makes me feel good, and I also do yoga,” she said. Source

Break Ke Baad - Movie Review, Good or Bad
What’s it About: When you attempt a romantic comedy, you need to abide by two rules — it needs to have the freshness quotient and a twist in the tale.
Danish Aslam’s Break Ke Baad tries to stick to the formula but half-heartedly. And that’s why the zing is missing from this romcom. BKB is about Abhay Gulati (Imran) and Aaliya Khan (Deepika) — childhood friends who grow up and fall in love. However, they have distinctly polar personalities. She is flighty, unemotional, impulsive and ambitious. He is the complete opposite but believes that they belong by each other’s side and promises her that he’ll do anything to keep them together. He lives by his word and even follows her to Australia. Then things get complicated and Aaliya declares she wants to break up. It happens one too many times, until Abhay gives it all up one day and returns home to get married. Aaliya then begins to have second thoughts…
What’s hot: There are many films made on falling in love but few delve into the break-up process. The story idea held promise — sadly it is never exploited to its potential. The locations are beautiful, the lead pair looks great, the dialogues are good and the characters interesting. That holds true, especially of Yudishtr. He brings a smile to your face every now and then. The film bears semblance to reality, as there are thousands of couples out there breaking up and making up everyday. A strong screenplay would’ve helped the film make an impact, which it quickly loses after the first half. There are those momentary highs — scenes like the ‘Sunita-Shah Rukh Khan’ drunken escapade and between Aaliya and her mom Ayesha (Tagore). The humour is appealing. Nischol as Abhay’s dad and Dubey as his aunt add able support. Imran is getting more confident with every film and Deepika charms her way through. Vishal-Shekhar’s music is a big plus.
What’s not: The problem lies with the script which fails to bring out any chemistry between Abhay and Aaliya. There is no passion, no sweetness or even feelings. There’s just too much talking. And if you don’t feel their love, how can you feel anything when they break-up? That’s where the film fails. The story and the couple keep shuttling between India and Australia, like it’s a Mumbai to Goa ride. Another problem with the film is that it tries too hard to be cool. In Socha Na Tha, Abhay Deol addressing his father by his first name was cute and appealing but in BKB, it seems cold and deliberate. In the second half, the screenplay goes from bad to worse. Nothing can salvage a love story if it’s not engaging enough.
What’s that! Aaliya gets a role in a Hollywood film but she chucks the contract and returns home. They let her go. Then she returns and gets the role again. Later, she ditches the unit in the middle of the shoot to run to India. How understanding of the producers to let a first-timer have her way, no?
What to do: Watch it only if you are addicted to romcoms. Source
