Could this be Madhuri’s comeback from her previous comeback, Aaja Nachle?

I’ve worked with other actresses, but Madhuriji is Madhuriji.” However, we do know she is meeting him since she tweeted, “Meeting with Anil Kapoor today. Lets see what happens….”
When asked about his upcoming venture, Anil said, “It’s too early to comment on any of my new projects, but I would love to work with Madhuri in any capacity at any stage.” Source

Why Am I Not Popular Enough ? Asks Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has said she is glad she is known for her talent but has questioned why she gets less hype than other Bollywood actresses. Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror the actress said she does not know why Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor were more famous than her.
“I don’t know. You tell me. Having given three hits back-to-back in three years I wonder why there is not as much hype about me as them,” she said.
Sharma added that she thinks the other leading ladies are less famous for their films than they are for their off-screen activities.
“I am glad that I am known for my talent and not for my clothes or controversies,” she told the paper.

Shahid & Priyanka Plan It Out

Bollywood’s celebrated on-again-off-again couple, Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, is reportedly back together, and what’s more, they are set to ring in the New Year together at an undisclosed location in Chandigarh.
Shahid, who has been shooting for his father’s film Mausam near Chandigarh, will be taking the weekend off to spend time with Priyanka.
Although Priyanka’s spokesperson vehemently denied this, our source insists that the couple is back together. Says he, “Shahid and Priyanka are back together. The couple recently reunited when Karan Johar SMSed them to be a guest couple on his chat show Koffee With Karan.
That’s when they met and sorted out their misunderstandings and problems. After they went on the show as a couple, they realised that they were in fact victims of misunderstandings created by other people.
Now that they are back together, they have decided that they need to spend more time with each other. Subsequently, Priyanka, who declined all New Year eve live performances, decided that she would join Shahid in Chandigarh.”
The source further said, “They will be staying at a resort but no one knows the exact location. And in a way the two owe it to the host of the chat show who unwitting brought them together by offering them an opportunity to iron out their differences.”
The two actors started dating while shooting for Kaminey. We noted that the spark of the on-screen chemistry had hardly dimmed on the show. Take your show on the road, we say. Source

The Year 2010 Was Excellent For The K-Actresses

It can be called a co-incidence of sorts that most of the films that have done well at the ticket window this year star heroines whose names start with the initial K.
Starting with the most experienced Kajol who started the year on a high with the hit MY NAME IS KHAN, where she was paired with her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She did disappoint a bit with her second and third release, WE ARE FAMILY and TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO, but her super sensitive act as Mandira in MNIK saved the day for Kajol and her fans.
Then comes the most successful and certainly the numero-uno heroine of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, who has a super hit in form of RAAJNEETI and her latest release TEES MAAR KHAN too has embarked upon a historic start netting almost 40 crore during the first weekend itself, second only to the biggest DABANGG.
If Katrina is there can Kareena be left far behind? Well, not at all. Kareena Kapoor may have had a bad year with her moth ridden MILENGE MILENGE and WE ARE FAMILY failing at the turnstile but she did recover with the blockbuster GOLMAAL 3 thus ending the year on a high note.
Last but not the least two names that might surprise quite a few, Kangna Ranaut, with her stellar performance in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and the hugely talented Konkona Sen Sharma with her spontaneously brilliant act in ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE?
Well, so the K factor works not only for Karan Johar but also for the heroines in Bollywood. Source

Sunny Deol Is Worried About His Role In ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’

Though his film YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA is making the right noise, but there’s something that is bothering Sunny Deol to the core.
After doing a spate of films with patriotic themes, Sunny Deol is perturbed about the fact that some people have tried to dub him as an actor who just belongs to that kind of genre. The actor is baffled at the way patriotism is perceived by a few in bollywood.
Though in his film YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, Sunny Deol will return to romance, but the actor cannot stop speaking his heart out. Says he, “There are a few people who have tried to dub me as someone belonging to one flavour of cinema. For them Sunny Deol was all about patriotism and I wonder what is wrong in being patriotic. We should be looking up at this fact rather than looking down.”
With YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, Sunny Deol will be putting up a different flavour of his personality, something which we haven’t seen in long time from his side. Yes, we mean the return of the romantic. Source

Vidya Balan Supports The Youth Voice

No One Killed Jessica actress Vidya Balan says she feels glad that today’s youth are not just clear about their opinions but know how to voice them and drive the government to act - as was seen in the Jessica Lall’s murder case.
“I think it’s very interesting that youth are voicing their opinion on issues and willing to participate through blogs, SMSes and even social networking sites. And the media has helped youth a lot in mobilising public opinion. I am glad youth are not armchair activists saying justice should be meted out. Youth of today say, ‘We can be part of the process to make sure justice is given’. It’s wonderful,” Vidya told in an interview.
The 32-year-old has a vivid recollection of youth participation during the over-a-decade-long legal battle following the murder of model Jessica Lall, who was shot dead by Manu Sharma, the son of a Haryana politician in 1999.
“Back then all of us felt very strongly about it. I remember college students were incensed by what had happened. I am talking about the time a little later than 1999… the case was still going…and there was a fervour across the country. Sitting in Mumbai, people were doing signature campaigns and everyone felt involved in some ways. So it’s nice to see youth have force,” she said.
In Rajkumar Gupta’s No One Killed Jessica, releasing on 7th Jan, Vidya will be seen essaying the role of Sabrina Lall, Jessica’s sister who fought day in and day out to get justice for her younger sister. After living the part in the reel, she hopes no one goes through the experience in real life.
“I would not want anyone to go through any legal battle for so long because the legality aside, it is emotionally draining. I do think that the verdict reassured my faith in the judicial system of the country, but, again, as a citizen I wish justice had been meted out earlier than it was,” said Vidya, who has teamed up with Rani Mukerji in the film. Vidya never got a chance to meet Sabrina Lall in person before or during the shooting of the film.
“Rajkumar Gupta was very clear that all I needed to know was the facts of the case. He wanted me to chart out an emotional journey of Sabrina on my own. Also, we didn’t want to misuse her kindness because she was kind enough to go through our script and give her consent to our film. Sabrina’s emotional journey is the core of the film. But, yes, it is a feature film… it is about stirring people’s emotions,” she said.
Does she hope the film will inspire youth to be more vocal?
“I have never thought how inspirational could the film be for viewers. If it happens to inspire, great! But we have not set out to make the film for that purpose. What really inspired us was the spirit of Sabrina… spirit of all those people who played a role in the case,” Vidya added. Source

Himesh Reshammiya On Balancing His Music & Acting Careers

He might have become the favourite punching bag for the critics but this has not dampened the acting spirit in Himesh Reshammiya. Not even a bit. Though his last film KAJRAARE was released in a hush hush manner and marked the third flop in a row in his acting career, Himesh believes that it is premature of his critics to write him off at this stage.
Talking about his acting career and the critics take on it, Himesh says, “It is not fair on the critics part to write me off. I have only had three flops whereas there are actors who have given more flops and have still kept on doing films. I should also be given a fair chance to prove myself.”
And how does he plan to balance his acting and music career? Pat comes the reply. Adds Himesh, “I am working on a strategy to establish myself as an actor now. I believe it is only a matter of few good scripts to silence my critics. I am working towards it. As far as my music is concerned, I have been making a new bank of over 200 songs which I will release under my own music label in the coming time. This way I can easily strike balance between acting and music.”
With Himesh not paying heed to critic’s advice, let’s hope he manages to silence them in the coming time. Source

Asin’s Completely Dedicated Towards Her Work

Guess getting exhausted is pretty much in vogue. One constantly hears about ever-so-busy star females like Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif getting all tired and worked up due to their hectic schedules month after month. Recently one also heard about how Vidya Balan was managing only a couple of hours of sleep for days (or shall we say nights?) at stretch.
Now it seems Asin too hasn’t been spared of this ongoing phenomenon. Says a close friend of the actress, “Asin is extremely tired as her commitments are wrapping up post mid-night. She reaches home by 2:00-2:30 AM, crashes on to her bed and then has to be ready by 8 AM in the morning to report for her shoot. These are really hectic times for her.”
One wonders though what is keeping Asin busy for so long. After all ever since the release of LONDON DREAMS late last year, she hasn’t been seen in any other Hindi film. Also, the only Bollywood film that she is currently working on is READY.
“In fact READY is one of the many things that is keeping her on her toes literally 24X7?, continues Asin’s friend, “Now that release date of READY has been announced for May, the film is making brisk progress to meet the deadline. She recently shot the first song of READY for four days continuously in Film City, Mumbai.”
She continues, “While this schedule used to wrap up by 10PM, Asin had to dub for her advertisements and endorsements as well. This isn’t all as she also has a few events and appearances on hand which means that she is at home for barely 4-5 hours.”
With a recent scientific study proving that ‘beauty sleep’ is not just a term but also a practically reality, how is Asin managing to catch up on her nine winks? “Forget ‘beauty sleep’, right now I would be lucky if I get some ‘plain sleep’ for myself”, Asin brings on a smile here, “But hey, that’s okay, I enjoy my work. All izz well.” Source

A Sequel Of Toonpur Is On The Cards

If you, for once thought that Bollywood is going through the sequel season, you will be surprised with the sudden decision coming from Ajay Devgn. No, the actor isn’t talking about his Golmaal sequel or as you’d call it G4. When we recently interviewed Ajay on his views regarding Toonpur Ka Superhero, he came up with a statement that went, “Yes, if Toonpur Ka Superhero does well at the box office then we might be looking at a sequel or try and be a part of yet another animation film.”
As far as Toonpur is concerned, Devgn quotes, “We are so busy making live action films but whenever we see Hollywood animation films, we are taken by a surprise. However, when our own industry makes it, we don’t. I don’t understand why. Yes, I agree that when Kirit came up to me with the idea, I was hesitant initially because that’s never happened here. But now I can confidently say that you can compare Toonpur with any Hollywood animation film.”
But more than the actor talking about his own film, he is surprised with the kids’ reaction after the first special screening kept for them. Ajay comments, “Kids just love the film. They are laughing and are connecting to it in so many ways. It’s the first time when they are all so glued on to one place and even parents love that fact (laughs). According to the kids, it is the best Indian film they’ve seen.”
An ardent fan of Tom and Jerry cartoons, Ajay got concerned when we asked him whether he actually did get some honest feedback from his own daughter Nysa on Toonpur. He said, “That’s a good question. I haven’t really had a word with Nysa on Toonpur except the fact that she is really eager to show it to her friends. Nysa loves watching cartoons and animation films and recently saw Despicable Me and she loved it. But it’s difficult to predict what a kid likes in an animation film. Their patience level is to be tested a lot. In that way, animation films have a very unpredictable audience. I myself don’t know what I like in an animation film but something gets me attracted to them.”
Whatever you say Mr. Ajay Devgn, I’m sure you know the best and we know too how unpredictable our Box Office is getting with each passing day. But here’s wishing you and your film a good score at the ticket window and looking at your personal Box Office record for 2010, we really don’t have our doubts. Source
