Abhishek Bachchan would indeed be in a dilemma. He turned over the top and became violent in RAAVAN but neither his act nor the film was accepted by the audience. Now in KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY, he has done just the opposite by going subtle and under stated as a revolutionary. Still, the film didn’t see much footfalls despite generally good reviews coming its way for both content as well as performances.
So what went wrong? Was it Abhishek Bachchan’s lack of stardom? Not really. Because if that was the case then no actor in the history of cinema would have seen a rise up in the ladder after delivering 3-4 flops. However, many actors have found themselves back in limelight if the choice of subject and director. In that aspect, Abhishek did well by pairing up with Ashutosh Gowariker.
Abhishek is a good actor. That doesn’t need further reaffirmation, especially after efforts like GURU, SARKAR, PAA, DELHI 6, DOSTANA and many others in recent times where he has seen good audience as well as well as critical response coming his way for performance. However, box office has shown a different picture and that could be due to multiple reasons. Post the release of a film, it is quite easy to actually pin point on what went wrong, what could possibly have been right and what could perhaps make sense in future. Source
