Akshay & Katrina Face Troubles While Promoting Tees Maar Khan

There are always two sides to a coin. While being famous comes with its own perks, there is a flip side too, which is of being followed by millions of ardent fans wherever you go. Though it’s all for the love of the celeb, sometimes the fans can get into frenzy and create trouble for the star. Katrina Kaif recently had a first hand experience of this, while she was on a promotional tour for her upcoming film Tees Maar Khan.
It was in Dubai when Katrina was scheduled for a promotional event at a local mall where her fans gathered in thronging numbers. On seeing her car arrive, her fans mobbed the vehicle for a glimpse of the actress. The situation got so out of hand that Katrina’s make up man had to double up as her security to escort the harrowed star back to the hotel.
While closer to home, on a nationwide promotional campaign, both Akshay and Katrina were left confined to the hotel in Ludhiana, all thanks to the fans who had gathered outside. Maybe the fans took the ‘Catch me if you can’ bit from the TMK’s title track too seriously. Source

Why Aishwarya Is Not Promoting Her Film, Guzaarish ?

The beautiful Aishwarya Rai was under considerable pressure to appear on TV reality shows to promote her films ‘Action Replayy’ and ‘Guzaarish’. The lady who did make an appearance on Akshay Kumar’s show, ‘Mater Chef India’ is very clear in her head that she will not use TV shows to promote her films and even otherwise.
Talking to a news daily, an insider revealed, “There was considerable pressure on Aishwarya to be on these reality shows for her two back-to-back releases. But she is very clear about her dos and don`ts. Being on reality is a complete no-no for her. She did make an exception for Akshay`s ‘Master Chef’. But no song and dance reality shows for Aishwarya. And no game shows. Two weeks ago she stayed away from ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ as part of the promotion for ‘Action Replayy’. This week Aishwarya refused to go on the popular music contest ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Hrithik Roshan had to go alone.”
The muse of ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali did make it to Dubai to promote her film with Hrithik Roshan but did not accompany him to the sets of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Defending her reservations, the filmmaker said, “I completely respect her decision because I know she is not doing it as a fashion statement. Aishwarya truly believes in whatever she does. So there`s never that doubt that she is just doing it throw her weight around. Her decisions are always well thought-out.”
Buzz has it that the Bachchan bahu has been approached to be a part of a big television show at a price that no other lady from Bollywood could ever imagine.
Now is it Aishwarya’s bond with the show that is stopping her from making an appearance on other TV shows or is it Salman Khan’s stern decision not to let the lady promote her film ‘Action Replayy’ on his show ‘Bigs Boss’ which eventually hurt her inflated ego is something to wonder about. Or is she acting too pricey? No matter what her decision has certainly made eye brows raise. Source

Is Amitabh Bachchan Promoting Gutka ?

Amitabh Bachchan is extremely angry because his voice has been imitated to promote a ‘gutka’ company. He feels it is ‘unethical’ and shows him in ‘bad light’.
“I was shocked to read a comment from a dear extended family of how a ‘gutka’ manufacturer was using my imitated voice to flog his product. Now, not only is this unethical and wrong, it paints me in bad light as well,” Bachchan posted on his blog. The 68-year-old is particularly upset that his identity is being used for something he does not consume.
‘Gutka’ is tobacco-oriented (powder) mixed with various other banned ingredients, which has become a huge consumption interest among Indians the world over.
“For someone that does not smoke or propagate smoking or any kind of intoxicant, by keeping away from endorsing such products, it is most disgusting to find someone conflagrating the law of the land and the law of ethics, if ever they possessed one,” he added.
Amitabh hopes to “take relevant steps to stop this illegal practice and introduce elements bound by contract to see that such practices are not repeated in the future”.
The actor is against imitation and wants the film fraternity to speak in favour of copyright protection.
“Copyright protection has been an unknown or ignored factor at least in our film profession and I would earnestly urge all my colleagues to initiate strict legal procedures through recognised organisations to protect themselves and in turn the public at large too.”
“Selling or seeking commercial gain through imitation and caricatured images of a Shah Rukh (Khan), Salman (Khan) or Aamir (Khan) without authority and consent, is wrong and unjust and illegal. And those that perpetrate this practice must be made aware that there can be serious repercussions to it,” he added. Source
