Amitabh Bachcan Is In Full Supoort Of The Indian Cricket Team

The Indian cricket team is getting brickbats after it lost its World No.1 Test crown to England. But Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan supports the team, saying that rubbing them off completely after the loss is a ruthless way of dealing with the situation.
“For years and till not too far away, our cricket team and its captain (Mahendra Singh) Dhoni were the masters. One loss in England and suddenly they are incompetent. People reaction is as subtle and as ruthless as this,” Big B posted on his blog.
“It requires immense acumen to be where they put you and in some manner to maintain it. Some understand the futility and the improbability of the situation and reconcile to it. Others and many others do not. Once there, they believe they are there and nowhere else. This is not entirely an adverse situation.”
“It is quite possible that it thrives too. Others succumb to the moment, understand and accept. This is not entirely wrong too. Both can co exist, its a matter of reconciling with its complexity,” Bachchan added.
Earlier this week, Indian team tasted humiliating defeat after they lost the series by 3-0. The newspapers and the cricket legends have been criticizing their performance in foreign turf by calling it Indian team’s worst performance in recent years. Source

Acting Comes Natural To Amitabh Bachchan; He Follows No Methods

You must be thinking that how can Big B manage to perform so well for the roles like he is playing in his upcoming flick.
He was answering a similar question for his film BBUDDAH-HOGA TERRA BAAP. This actor does not prepare. He just acts and has very little faith in the ‘method’ theory of acting first propounded by the Russian actor and theatre director Constantin Stanislavsky and later popularised by Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg who trained thespians like Brando, Niro and Pacino.
We also have our ‘method actors’ in Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri, and a whole lot of new-gen practitioners of the craft who go through an intense process of preparation for their ’serious’ and ‘meaningful’ roles. Our cerebral Khan is also believed to be a kind of a follower of the ‘method school’ since he takes his own sweet time getting into his intense characters and then coming out of them. Source

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all praise for Rahat Taslim from Jharkhand who became the first woman to win Rs.1 crore on his gameshow ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. ‘Rahat Taslim, a small town housewife from Giriddih, Jharkhand as you all may have known by now, won the one crore at KBC,’ Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.
‘A simple woman, a Muslim from an unknown village, still under the social and conservative norms of the ‘purdah’, came out from her house stitching activities that earned her 2000-3000 rupees in order to run the house and made a crore of rupees,’ he added.
Taslim, 37, who is the first contestant of the fourth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati to win Rs.1 crore, had spent most of her life facing endless hardships.
While she sews clothes, her husband works with the Mica Trading Corp of India on a salary of Rs.6,000.
‘She never in her life had opened even a bank account, because of their meagre earnings, had never seen the lakhs that came to her in the form of the zero’s on her cheque and had never ever imagined that she would get to the hot seat at KBC,’ Amitabh wrote.
‘But she did. Her husband was away working in Cochin in Kerala and she took the initiative to apply first to KBC,’ he added.

Is Amitabh Bachchan Promoting Gutka ?

Amitabh Bachchan is extremely angry because his voice has been imitated to promote a ‘gutka’ company. He feels it is ‘unethical’ and shows him in ‘bad light’.
“I was shocked to read a comment from a dear extended family of how a ‘gutka’ manufacturer was using my imitated voice to flog his product. Now, not only is this unethical and wrong, it paints me in bad light as well,” Bachchan posted on his blog. The 68-year-old is particularly upset that his identity is being used for something he does not consume.
‘Gutka’ is tobacco-oriented (powder) mixed with various other banned ingredients, which has become a huge consumption interest among Indians the world over.
“For someone that does not smoke or propagate smoking or any kind of intoxicant, by keeping away from endorsing such products, it is most disgusting to find someone conflagrating the law of the land and the law of ethics, if ever they possessed one,” he added.
Amitabh hopes to “take relevant steps to stop this illegal practice and introduce elements bound by contract to see that such practices are not repeated in the future”.
The actor is against imitation and wants the film fraternity to speak in favour of copyright protection.
“Copyright protection has been an unknown or ignored factor at least in our film profession and I would earnestly urge all my colleagues to initiate strict legal procedures through recognised organisations to protect themselves and in turn the public at large too.”
“Selling or seeking commercial gain through imitation and caricatured images of a Shah Rukh (Khan), Salman (Khan) or Aamir (Khan) without authority and consent, is wrong and unjust and illegal. And those that perpetrate this practice must be made aware that there can be serious repercussions to it,” he added. Source
