Salman Khan Takes The Art Class In Symbiosis Institute

Students of Symbiosis Institute in Pune got a rare insight into the actor’s passion for colour when ‘Bodyguard’ was shot there

While we know that Salman Khan has earned laurels for his work as an artist, it seems he wasn’t too inclined towards the canvas during his student days.

However, during the shoot of Bodyguard at Symbiosis in Pune, the actor took an impromptu art class.

Salman, who plays a bodyguard to the film’s lead heroine Kareena Kapoor, was taken by surprise during a lunch break one day.

“The students started asking him all sorts of questions about art,” recalls our source, adding that it began when one guy asked what the actor did during his spare time to relax.

Our source further adds, “Salman said that painting took up most of his spare time as it also had a soothing effect on him.

Then he proceeded to draw a sketch of Jesus on the blackboard with the colour chalks available in the classroom.”

That’s not all. “Then he also went on to talk at length about his interest in art and explained how he went about exploring himself as an artist.

He was pleased that several students there loved art, and so he encouraged them to find time to indulge in their creative interests,” says our source.

Shahid, Imran & John Take On Salman Khan

Come September and it would be known to one and all that kisme kitna hai dum. Month of July has been extraordinary for Bollywood with four huge hits in a row. However September could well be the most defining month of 2011 when it comes to youngsters taking the forefront and rising up to the challenge. Shahid Kapoor, Imran Khan and John Abraham - three Gen X actors on whom Bollywood future is dependent would be vying for attention right through the month, hence claiming their spot under the sun.
Says a filmmaker who has a knack for launching newcomers, “This is the most crucial period for the industry since all three actors are at a very crucial juncture of their career. Shahid has to score a big hit with ‘Mausam’ so that after ‘Kaminey, ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Vivah’, he can stake further claim in the bracket of top stars. Ditto for Imran Khan who has to now strike hard with ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ now that his positioning is hot after ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Break Ke Baad’ and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’.”
The man who can be expected to be the most anxious of all is John Abraham who has some catching up to do after ‘Jhoota Hi Sahi’. However with ‘Force’ looking good, he now needs to reclaim his ‘New York’ and ‘Dostana’ positioning.

Salman Patches Up With Sanju Baba

B-town is abuzz with rumors that latest arch-rivals Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt have finally settled their differences and made peace after an earlier fall out during Manyata’s birthday bash.
It’s heard that all this happened after Salman’s manager helped them resolve and repair their differences.
Reports suggest Salman was planning to back out of celebrity reality show “Bigg Boss “since he didn’t want to co-host the show with Sanjay.
Meanwhile, Salman’s manager, who didn’t want the reigning superstar to leave the show, decided to act as peacemaker between them.

Katrina’s Generosity For Salman Khan

Katrina, who had earlier said that she’s grateful to the Khan family for being so generous to her when she entered the industry, seems to be in a mood to return the favour.
So she shot a song for free in Atul Agnihotri’s film, Bodyguard. The song which goes, Aayare aaya bodyguard…, is touted as Katrina’s first item number, post the very successful Sheila Ki Jawani.
And though there is every chance that the song would surely add to the entertainment value of the film, some things clearly go beyond money for the actress.
Confirms producer Atul Agnihotri, “It is very gracious of her to have done this. She has always been very supportive of our work and is ready to contribute in whatever way possible.”
Interestingly, this is not the only time Katrina has gone that extra mile to keep up her friendship with the Khan family.
Adds Atul, “We have all known her for years now and she is part of our family. Even in my earlier film Hello, she had to do a guest appearance and she did it free of cost.” Source

Arbaaz Khan To Wait For Salman Khan

It’s a known fact now that Salman Khan won’t be beginning ‘Dabangg 2' before next year. However brother Arbaaz Khan had been devising a Plan B earlier to mitigate this situation. The latest though is that the actor turned producer and now also the director (with ‘Dabangg 2') has decided not to go ahead with a quickie that he was earlier contemplating to make during the interim period before he gets ‘Dabangg 2' on floors.
“Yes, there was a possibility of doing that but I guess there is no point going ahead with that. If at all I have to make any film other than Salman, it has to be with an A-lister. Now dates of none of the top stars are currently available. And if I think of making a film with a smaller star or say a newcomer, it requires all the more effort to make them understand expectations and then further market and promote the film,” says Arbaaz.
He further goes on to reason, “Moreover, even a quickie requires 8-9 months at least from start to finish. By that time ‘Dabangg 2' schedule would be staring at me. It would be too much too soon I guess and I don’t want to drain myself out. I would rather wait for the next big one instead of worrying about not shooting for the next few months.” Source

“Post Wanted and Dabangg, Salman knows his bearings quite well. He has constantly reinvented himself and in the current phase of his career he understands that ‘masala’ is in. This is the reason why even in a family entertainer like Ready, there were a few action sequences included though they were more in a lighter vein.
However in Bodyguard, the core of which is an emotional romantic drama, there are quite a few hardcore action sequences included as well to make it a ‘masala’ affair”, says a source attached to the film’s writing team.
This made sense as well since the film’s title pretty much gives an impression of an action flick. Since Salman plays Kareena’s bodyguard in the film, audience are bound to expect a few stylised sequences that would involve their hero bashing up dozens of goons in one go. Source

Salman To Do Only 2 Episodes Of Bigg Boss With Sanju Baba

Bigg Boss is the controversial house of small screen, which is going to spice up the reality show, as actor Sanjay Dutt is entering the TV sets for the very first time.

Salman, Ajay & Sanjay To Come Together For A Film

Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will work together in a film that will be jointly produced by them. The discussion is on in the initial stages.
The three actors have never done a film together except for a brief appearance in Salman’s latest blockbuster Ready in which Zarine Khan elopes with him, only to get married to Ajay. Sanjay plays a registrar, who also happens to be a divorce lawyer.
Salman and Ajay were last seen together in Vipul Shah’s film London Dreams (2009) that tanked at the box office.
Salman and Sanjay were last seen in Chal Mere Bhai (2000).
Ajay and Sanjay will be soon seen in David Dhawan’s forthcoming movie Rascals

Ajay Devgn Compliments Salman On His Body

After Ajay Devgn was praised by Salman Khan for his new six pack look in forthcoming action film Singham, the former has now returned the compliment.
The 42-year-old actor, who will be seen in an action film after a gap of eight years, said it feels great to be complimented by Salman who has the best body in the industry.
“Salman has the best body in the industry. We are very good friends and when he tweeted about my six packs for my film, I take it as a compliment,” he said.
Salman had earlier tweeted in praise of Ajay’s chiselled body, saying, “Baap re baap. Superb Ajay’s body is looking. Too good.”
The ‘Golmaal’ star had to hit the gym regularly to join the league of six pack abs alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Emraan Hashmi.
“I don’t follow any trend. It was the necessity of the script, so I decided to get it. I have hit the gym regularly for three hours and followed a controlled diet,” said Devgn, who was in the national capital today to promote ‘Singham’.
Devgn will be seen as a Marathi cop doing some breathtaking action sequences in the film which has been directed by Rohit Shetty.
Asked about his decision of coming back to action, the actor said through action also he took it as a challenge.
“I took it as a challenge because I was doing a full-fledged action film after ‘Khakee’. I want to entertain my audience with my film. After giving my first shot, I was quite confident that I can give some convincing action scenes,” he said. Source

Shahrukh Dances To The Tunes Of Salman At IIFA Awards

Despite of his knee injury the Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan chose to make his audience dance to his steps, and Salman Khan’s too!
“If I can’t dance, I’ll make sure everyone dances here in Toronto tonight,” he said as he spoke to the over 20,000-strong audience at the Roger’s Centre for the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony on Saturday night.
The 45-year-old, who kept making off-and-on appearances on stage during the event, was the grand finale performer. Though his performance started with a bang with the peppy number Say shava shava, but within a minute it ended leaving fans disappointed.
Little did anyone know that Shah Rukh had more in store for his fans.
“Today, I’ll teach you guys different techniques used in Bollywood dancing,” he told his fans.
He took the help of choreographer Shiamak Davar’s troupe members in getting thousands of people dancing in the stadium, a key landmark in Toronto.
Teaching his fans how to sway to Say shava shava, Shah Rukh suggested the fans to presume they had to “pull the flush and knock the door”.
Shah Rukh threw another surprise when he chose the title track of his friend-turned-foe Salman Khan’s Dabangg for the activity. He even imitated the typical Salman step wherein he keeps his hands inside the pants’ pockets, and moves them side to side.
“This step was made because the trousers were made extremely lose,” he quipped.
Aamir’s Khandaala and Jeetendra’s Dhal gaya din were also on Shah Rukh’s list of dance numbers to be taught. He had colourful hankerchieves and brooms as props for his dance class!
Trust Shah Rukh to engage his audience like no one does.
The audience was, of course, more than elated.
“This gesture of Shah Rukh of teaching us dance steps was very cool. We felt like a part of the whole celebration, and not just spectators,” Riddhima Roy, a 20-year-old, said.
A foreigner said, “It’s a great way to learn Bollywood dancing in a humourous way!”  Source

Why Yuvraj Singh Is Eagerly Waiting For Salman To Marry?

Hard hitting Indian batsman Yuvraj Sindh said on Wednesday that he feels B-town actor Salman Khan is more eligible a bachelor than him and he will sure tie the nuptial knot after the brawny actor.
“Salman is real eligible. He is the real star. First he marries, then I wil do, ” Singh said humourously.
Yuvraj was in the city to promote ‘UTV Bindaas Emotioanl Atyachaar 3' where he will feature in one of the episodes as special guest.
Yuvraj was in the city with the anchor of the show Pravesh Rana.
“It was good to interact with Pravesh and the people participating in the show.Some moments were tense but it was good, ” Yuvraj said on his experience of working in the show.
Meanwhile, Pravesh disclosed that he is working on a film based on Shakespeare.

Salman Khan Gets Tax Relief From High Court

The Bombay high court has dismissed an appeal filed by the income tax (I-T) department against actor Salman Khan for alleged tax evasion to the tune of Rs 4 crore.
On June 6, a division bench of Justice J P Devadhar and Justice R P Sondurbaldota ruled against the I-T department, which had challenged an order passed in favour of the actor by the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in June 2009.
The department had disputed Khan’s assessment of income for the period 2000-01.
While the actor had declared his income as Rs 9.32 crore, a re-assessment by the I-T department put it at Rs 13.61 crore. The I-T department’s case was that details of Khan’s income were revealed in post-assessment searches conducted by it on the premises of the actor’s then secretary, Sudhir Wahi , on November 23, 2000.
The actor moved the Commissioner of I-T (CIT appeals) against the order of the Assessing officer (AO).
Khan argued that no notice, which is mandatory under Section 143 (2) of the Income Tax Act, was issued to him before the start of the assessment proceedings.
The CIT ruled against Khan, but granted him relief. The department then filed an appeal in the ITAT, which ruled in the actor’s favour. The ITAT observed that the assessment framed by the commissioner was “bad in law” . The HC, while dismissing the department’s appeal, noted that in an earlier case of tax evasion against Khan, the court had considered a similar question and held that in the absence of the mandatory notice, the re-assessment order cannot be sustained.
