Shahid, Imran & John Take On Salman Khan

Come September and it would be known to one and all that kisme kitna hai dum. Month of July has been extraordinary for Bollywood with four huge hits in a row. However September could well be the most defining month of 2011 when it comes to youngsters taking the forefront and rising up to the challenge. Shahid Kapoor, Imran Khan and John Abraham - three Gen X actors on whom Bollywood future is dependent would be vying for attention right through the month, hence claiming their spot under the sun.
Says a filmmaker who has a knack for launching newcomers, “This is the most crucial period for the industry since all three actors are at a very crucial juncture of their career. Shahid has to score a big hit with ‘Mausam’ so that after ‘Kaminey, ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Vivah’, he can stake further claim in the bracket of top stars. Ditto for Imran Khan who has to now strike hard with ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ now that his positioning is hot after ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Break Ke Baad’ and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’.”
The man who can be expected to be the most anxious of all is John Abraham who has some catching up to do after ‘Jhoota Hi Sahi’. However with ‘Force’ looking good, he now needs to reclaim his ‘New York’ and ‘Dostana’ positioning.
“The biggest fun though lies in seeing how coming together of this young blood takes on the might of Salman Khan,” a trade pundit quips, “Don’t forget that his ‘Bodyguard’ would be a solid threat for everyone who dares to come in September. Though his film opens on Eid, it would see full fledged release only on 2nd September. Especially Imran can’t take him too lightly as he arrives only a week later.”
One wonders how the fun element would have only accentuated further had Ranbir stuck to his original plans for September arrival of ‘Rockstar’! Now that would have resulted in some battle of supremacy for sure. Source

Katrina & Imran At The Music Launch Of ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’

The title song of MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN left everyone charmed and captivated during the music release event of the film that was held at YRF Studios in Mumbai.
The event went on along the same lines as that of the theme of the movie - fun and endearing.
The music launch event also saw the stars of MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN perform to these two numbers. Imran Khan danced away to the title track while the ‘boldest dulhan’ as Katrina Kaif appears in the movie, performed on Dhunki track.
MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN is the 50th movie to be released under the YRF banner, Sohail Sen as the music director has kept the songs light and well in-sync with the mood of the movie. The songs and lyrics are quirky and meaningful at the same time and are an instant hit with the youth who connect to them immediately.

16 Slaps In A Row From Katrina To Imran

Bollywood actor Imran Khan got slapped 16 times — and that too by his co-star Katrina Kaif!
Before one draws any conclusions, Imran had to go through the torture for a scene in their upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, releasing September 9.
The romantic comedy, helmed by debutant director Ali Abbas Zafar, had a scene where Katrina had to slap Imran. But to the actor’s misfortune, Katrina took more than 16 takes to get the slap right!
‘We did that scene 16 times… 16 takes and finally the packup happened,’ Imran told reporters here.
‘Next day when I came onto the sets for the next scene, I was told that Katrina is not very happy with the scene that we did yesterday so she wants to shoot it again, only the slapping part. So we did more takes,’ he added.
A much-amused Katrina justified herself by saying that she is quite a perfectionist.
‘I take a while to get into the mood of the scene. The first time I slapped him, I didn’t get the feel right. It’s important to be convinced with the scene you are doing. So till the time it was perfect, we did it,’ she added. Source

Imran Khan Is On A Honeymoon Trip With Wife Avantika

The Kidnap actor Imran Khan has finally left for his long overdue holiday with wife Avantika Malik. The couple will be travelling to Prague, Venice and Paris.
Imran, who married Avantika, in January this year, had gone to Thailand for a short honeymoon.

Imran Khan Moves Ahead Of Ranbir

The success of Delhi Belly has made a hat-trick for Imran Khan after ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ (hit) and ‘Break Ke Baad’ (coverage). On the other hand his closest rival Ranbir has some catching up to do as he hasn’t had a release for almost a year now.
His ‘Rockstar’ is continuing to get pushed and while it is expected to be huge on entertainment, it is still a wait for the star. Meanwhile for Imran this is turning out to be a pretty sorted out phase as he has a definite success in hand with his next release - Yash Raj’s ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’.
“Imran is all set to make it four in a row,” says an industry expert, “The film has everything going for it, whether it’s his first time pairing with Katrina or the feel good ‘marriage’ subject, something that has seen a cent percent record in recent past. Remember how ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ were lapped up by the masses as well?”
The rivalry would take a further turn early next year as well when Ranbir’s ‘Barfee’ would be arriving close to Imran’s tentatively titled ‘Short Term Shaadi’. It would be also noticed quite closely due to the fact that the films would also be pitting Priyanka Chopra against Kareena Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor & Imran Khan - Friends Or Foes?

Bollywood is full of news, gossips, glamour and rumours. There have been numerous stories doing the rounds about the equation shared by Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Sometimes, they are shown to be best buddies, while sometimes they are portrayed to be arch rivals.

Imran Khan & His Press Conference With Women

Imran Khan is in the capital and is holding a first of its kind press conference in Delhi. He will be doing a press conference at the Indian Women’s Press Club (IWPC) today. As the name suggests, the press conference will be attended by only female journalists.
Imran has initiated a PIL against Maharashtra government’s new rule against drinking; he is also starting a page on a social networking website called “Power to Youth” supporting this movement, which he is going to launch at the special press conference.
Imran is of an opinion that the government cannot take today’s youth for granted thinking that they are not responsible enough before the age of 25.
Official spokesperson of Imran Khan confirms, “Yes, Imran will be holding a press conference at the IWPC, Delhi on Thursday. The reason Imran has chosen to hold the press conference at the Women’s press club because he strongly believes in women power.” Source

A birdie from the sets of Meri Brother Ki Dulhan informs that Imran Khan is having a lot of fun teasing his female co-star Katrina Kaif. He refers to Kat as ‘Udd Dabangg’ from Salman Khan’s Dabangg.
He earlier also had good fun teasing Deepika Padukone on the sets of Break Ke Baad by calling one of the spotboys as ‘RK’ which are the initials of her ex — Ranbir Kapoor.

Imran Khan Turns Bartender ?

Imran Khan, who recently got married to his long time girl friend Avantika Malik is enjoying a much needed break in Goa. The cute looking actor and his wife are having a gala time in Goa and Imran is leaving no stone unturned to please his better half.
The ‘Break Ke Baad’ star is learning to make exotic beverages. And since November last year, Imran had been working relentlessly. He flew of to Thailand for a short honeymoon immediately after his wedding but couldn’t do justice to his newly wed wife. So the young actor is now in a mood to unwind and make the most of the current break.
Talking to a daily, a source close to kid Khan said, “Imran is at a close friend Chinu’s restaurant in North Goa, a secluded area, frequented mostly by foreigners and some locals. Imran took off with a group of friends and his wife Avantika and visited this restaurant, where he was thrilled to watch the bartenders at work. So impressed was the actor that he expressed the desire to learn their work. His friend immediately made the arrangements.”
Imran must be a happy man now. He finally realized his wish to learn bartending.
“I am enjoying every moment of it. This is something that I wanted to do for some time now and when the opportunity came, I grabbed it with both my hands. I am not someone who drinks a lot but I love getting people drunk and learning the art of making

Imran Khan Celebrated His 28th Birthday

New Year rings in with celebration time for Bollywood actor Imran Khan. Only three days ago after he tied the knot with his long time girlfriend Avantika Malik, the chocolate boy of industry today celebrated his 28th birthday.
Buzz has it that Imran is in Phuket, Thailand, where he is enjoying his honeymoon along with his newlywed wife and giving them company are fifty close relatives of the sweet couple.
Imran and Avantika are on a three-day visit to Thailand and with his birthday coming in the midst makes the whole affair all the more special.
Yet, Imran’s vacations are soon to end as a lot of projects are waiting the actor, something which Imran maintains that he is looking forward to quite an eventful 2011.
Till recently, he’s been shooting for the Yashraj film ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ along with Katrina Kaif. Imran will also be seen in uncle Aamir Khan’s home production ‘Delhi Belly’. Apart from it, he is also pairing with Kareena Kapoor for the first time ever in Karan Johar’s production, tentatively titled ‘Short Term Shaadi’.

Imran Khan Invited Deepika For His Pre Marriage Celebrations

The chocolate actor Imran Khan, who has kept his pre-wedding rituals a complete family affair, is expected to have his movie “Break-Ke Baad” co-star and friend actress Deepika Padukone to be part of the ceremony.
Imran is tying the knot with his childhood sweetheart Avantika Malik Jan 10.
“Being a Mehndi and Sangeet ceremony, it would be a complete family affair and no Bollywood actors are to be seen. Only Deepika, Imran’s close friend, is expected to be part of the ceremony,” said a statement by his publicist.
The family, which includes Imran’s parents Anil Pal and Nuzhat Khan, uncle actor Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao and children Junaid and Ira, among others, would be present during the ceremony.

Imran Khan Is Ranbir Kapoor’s Better Half

“I don’t think Ranbir is dating anyone,” Imran Khan told Karan Johar on this week’s episode of Koffee with Karan. In fact, he went on to say that he doesn’t believe Ranbir Kapoor is foolish enough to date Salman Khan’s girlfriend. Both actors and friends graced the couch and made for a fun-filled episode.
After they gushed over each other and shared a staged kiss or two, they spoke openly about their personal lives. Imran explained his relationship and upcoming marriage with Avantika Malik, his girlfriend of eight years while Ranbir honestly confessed his friendship with Katrina Kaif (no, they are not dating, he added numerous times), his equation with ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone and his explanation for his nonstop link ups with his female costars.
They both expressed their desire to be a part of Dostana 3 and mimicked Abhishek Bachchan’s “I’ll do anything for the hamper” showdown prior to playing Karan’s rapid fire round. Both actors shed their inhibitions as they answered candidly and competed as friends to win the renowned hamper. Imran poked big time fun at his buddy and Ranbir played along as they both put Sonam pretty low on all rankings including her acting skills and sex appeal.
