He charmed the ladies with his flirty style and now he will literally turn into the Hindu God who is known for his popularity among Gopiyaans. Yeah, buzz is that Khiladi Akshay Kumar is going to don the role of Lord Krishna in his next film.
According to sources, the film is based on Paresh Rawal’s popular Hindi play titled ‘Krishan Vs Kanhaiya. After watching it recently, Akshay said to have been so impressed with the story that he planned to turn it into a full-length movie. The play deals with the conflict between an atheist and God.
The project, sources revealed, will be co-produced by Akki’s banner Hari Om Productions and Paresh. While Akshay will play Kanhaiya, hunt is on for an actor who will do Krishan’s part. Source

Word spreads fast and with social networking platforms ‘news in a second’ is what you are looking at. Akshay Kumar’s tweet on Friday in support of a National Hockey Day in India is soon turning into a national rage.
Akshay Kumar, busy with his soon-to-be-released Indo-Canadian production, BREAKAWAY, tweeted on 5 August, 2011 on his official social networking page, ‘Canada has given me something very interesting to think about.
If Canadians can celebrate Hockey Day, why can’t we Indians support our own national sport & initiate something similar? What are your views?’ This tweet has spread around like wildfire and is soon turning into national news that has been picked up by major and smaller news portals.
The tweet brought to attention again the very pertinent issue of our national sport of hockey fading away completely and although we do celebrate 29th August as National Sports Day, we do not yet have a day marked specially for hockey. Akshay Kumar To Learn A New Form Of Martial Art For ‘Rowdy Rathore’

Akshay Kumar is heading off to an undisclosed destination in South East Asia to learn a martial art form called Combat Karate for his next film, Rowdy Rathore.
This martial art form utilises fast-paced high kicking and speed punching and strikes to vulnerable points on the opponent’s body. No rules are followed as it is a very stylised form of street-fighting. A source reveals, “There are various forms of Combat Karate, including the American one. However, Akshay will study the traditional art form popularly practised as an underground activity in South East Asia. Until recently, training in the art was banned in some countries in the region.
Akshay will be taking off for two months to learn Combat Karate, and will be accompanied by his action director Anal Arasu. During this training period, he will cut off from the outside world as this training involves rigorous discipline, focus and concentration. Rowdy Rathore is set in the rustic heartland of India, and will be directed by Prabhudeva. It will see the Khiladi Kumar return to the action genre, something he knows and does extremely well. Source

Akshay Kumar Performs Live Stunt In Khatron Ke Khiladi 4

Having started his career with action movies, Akshay Kumar has always been instrumental in raising the bar where action scenes and stunts are concerned. Hence it came as no surprise that when a show based on action and daring sequences was formulated, it was Akshay’s name that popped up for the host anchor. Khatron Ke Khiladi, a reality action-based T.V. show saw its first two seasons hosted by Akki with success. The third season which was hosted by Priyanka Chopra saw a drop in the TRPs which is why the makers decided to go back to Akshay for the 4th season.
And to kick start this daredevil show with a bang, Akshay performed a live stunt at Filmcity, Mumbai on 2nd June fully enforcing his action-man image. “I am doing something this sort of stunt after almost five years so I was little apprehensive. It was the most difficult act I have ever done in all these years so there is a feeling of satisfaction. By doing a live stunt, all I wanted to prove was that whatever stunts we do in our show is real and no double is used,” clarified Akki to the gathered reporters. He added, “Also, while doing the stunt I was reminded that I would be the driving force for my contestants during the show. The stunt I did is special to me.”
Arriving on a bike wearing a fire-proof jacket Akshay’s stunt at the promotional event was well liked by everyone. Seen quietly chanting the Gayatri Mantra, Akshay had to be in a car which would burst into flames after a few minutes. Thankfully the stunt went well and he emerged unhurt. And not before increasing his fan following with his daredevilry.

Akshay Kumar Begins Shooting For Housefull 2 With Parachute Stunt

Actor Akshay Kumar is in action mode. On one hand, he is hosting Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 while, on the other, he flagged off the opening scene of Housefull 2 by shooting a parachute stunt on the outskirts of London.
‘Akshay has never done anything like this before and he’s really excited. I’m cool because I know the greatest stuntman in the country will pull off the shot effectively. I couldn’t have asked for a better first shot,’ said director Sajid Khan.
After getting the required permits to shoot live in the residential area, the 43-year-old took free-fall tests to parachute into the opening scene.
‘The scene is integral to the story and not just a publicity gimmick. We’ve kept it strictly under wraps because with six cameras stationed on the sets, we want to capture people’s reactions as Akshay jumps down from the heavens above,’ said Khan.

Akshay Kumar Created A Family Atmosphere On His Shooting

Last week when Khiladi Kumar had to leave for Chandigarh for a long spell of shooting, Akshay’s son had school to attend and couldn’t come along. Akshay was homesick and lonely. Twinkle and Aarav would now be joining Akshay in Chandigarh over every weekend when Aarav has two days off.
Says a source from Chandigarh, “Akshay has been really missing his wife and son. He told Shirish to get his wife Farah and their triplets over so that there would be a family atmosphere while they shoot. He has even asked Sonakshi to invite her parents to Chandigarh where he will play host.”
And now Shrish’s better-half Farah is also joining in the revelry. Taking a break from her schedules in Mumbai, Farah has decided to take off for Chandigarh with her triplets.
Sonakshi of course is completely regaled by her hero. She sees a lot of likeness between her first leading man Salman and Akshay. They both treat her with kids’ gloves and can’t do without their families.

Its Akshay Kumar Vs Ajay Devgn

Bollywood archrivals Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn are once again pitted against each other, this time on the small screen. Buzz has it that both actors are top contenders to host the fourth season of ‘Fear Factor’.
Apparently, Akshay Kumar has no inkling that the broadcasters of ‘Fear Factor’ are in constant talks with Ajay Devgn for the show.
Talking to a daily, a source from the TV industry said, “Ajay has sent feelers to the broadcasters of ‘Fear Factor’ that he wants to do that show. The channel that airs ‘Fear Factor’ has approached him. Ajay would love to do a show like ‘Fear Factor’. He loves action-oriented stuff.”
Well, it is not the first time and Akshay and Ajay are at loggerheads with each other. Akshay and Ajay’s professional relationship soured during the making of ‘Khakee’ (2004), where Ajay felt that Akshay had altered the length of his role. As a result, post ‘Khakee’, Ajay and Akshay never worked together again.
In 2010, Akshay convinced Vipul Shah to release ‘Action Replayy’ on the same day as ‘Golmaal 3’, though it is a different story that the former sank without a trace at the Box Office.
It is believed when Ajay Devgn heard that Emraan Hashmi would be chasing girls in Bhandarkar’s ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji’, he made an allusion to ‘Akshay Kumar pre marriage’. Ajay also suggested that Emraan’s pet should be named Abbi to rhyme with Akki.
Interestingly, even Priyanka is trying her best to beat both the action heroes to host fourth season of ‘Fear Factor’. Speaking on this development, the source added, “But that is unlikely to happen. It’s just a two-horse race now.”

Akshay Kumar To Star In The Sequel Of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’

There is nothing to be shocked about. Speculations are rife that Khiladi Kumar Akshay has been considered for the sequel of ‘Once Upon time in Mumbaai’. If the Stunt King gives his nod, then he would be playing Emraan Hashmi’s role.
Incidentally, Akshay was earlier said to have been approached by the production house; for producer Ekta Kapoor was keen to have him for the sequel. However they had problem when he demanded a hefty fee of 27 crores.

Akshay Kumar Escapes From A Crocodile Mouth

It was a dreadful day for Akshay Kumar, who was just about to be chewed down by a crocodile while performing a death-defying stunt for a cola giant.
Apparently, Bollywood action king Akshay Kumar narrowly escaped a horrific tragedy as he got into a scrape with crocodiles while shooting a cola advertisement in Malaysia.
Conforming to a daily, a source said, “Akshay loves all risky stunts from car chases to diving down waterfalls. Of course, most of this he does for his films. So when the cola brand he endorses wanted to shoot the ad in Malaysia, Akki suggested that he fight crocodiles and go white water rafting. The concept would be how Akshay fights crocs and dives down from his boat into the river to rescue his cola.”
The unit, escorted by the crocodile trainers, started the shoot early one morning in the thick jungles of Gopeng Perak. Akshay had to go white water rafting, jumping down from his raft into the river, dodging the ferocious crocodiles and swim to safety.
“When he jumped into the water the crocs were at a safe distance. However, something happened, and one of the reptiles lunged towards the actor,” said the source.
All Akki could see was its threatening jaw lunging towards him. “He froze for a split second. He has indulged in plenty of extreme-action stunts but fighting a crocodile is something he hasn`t done in real life. He turned around, grabbed the raft and quickly swung onto it and started rowing away as fast as he could till he reached a place of safety. His presence of mind saved him. Fortunately, they got some great shots of the actor with the crocs and he didn`t have to re-shoot. AK has fought sharks while shooting for Blue. There too, he had an accident and got injured. But he loves thrills and the cola he endorses is all about thrilling action and excitement,” added the source. Source

Akshay Kumar Slaps A Security Guard For Son Aarav

Recently the Khiladi Akshay Kumar switched on his action mode and slapped a security guard, who reportedly pinched his son Aarav’s derrière.
According to a leading daily, a security guard (Bhandari) from a Juhu building was tightly slapped by Akshay, and finally kicked out of his six-year old job on the actor’s behest.
Apparently, while Akshay and his wife Twinkle are resolute on the fact that the guard pinched Aarav’s buttocks, the guard claims to have saved Aarav’s life.
Buzz has it that the 35-year old security guard was quickly dismissed from his job while his security agency maintains that he was simply doing his duty and preventing Aarav from entering a meter room.
According to a dweller of The Grand Eastern Shores, Akshay and Aarav were visiting a family friend in the afternoon. While Akshay was busy conversing with some residents, Aarav wandered into meter room. Meanwhile, Bhandari spotted the eight-year-old kid walking down into the meter room and pulled him out just in time before he could touch any live wire.
However, a few minutes later, Akshay was found roughing up the security guard.
When enquired, Akshay said, “My son screamed when the incident happened. Let my wife elaborate.” “My son did not go into the meter room. That was simply Bhandari’s version. My son was climbing the stairs with his friend when Bhandari came behind them and pinched his buttocks. My son quickly brought it to my notice. At this point of time his friend said that Bhandari had done this to him too. Another child from their group also had a similar experience. Our son has been brave enough to talk about this to us. He has been a hero,” added Twinkle.
However, the matter did not end there as the very next day Akshay’s secretary contacted the secretary of the society and pushed him to sack the security guard. According to Commander Sitaram, GM at Hindustan Security Forces, the firm which had appointed the security guard, “Akshay’s secretary said Bhandari had allegedly misbehaved with his son. We were told that he had pinched his buttocks. Our investigations have confirmed that Bhandari did not hit or hurt the actor’s son. He pulled the child away from the danger zone and was just doing his duty.”
Yet, what went against Bhandari was the fact that he touched the boy in an attempt to save him, thereby violating the security company’s code of conduct. “Our men have strict instructions not to touch any child or woman, no matter what the circumstances are,” said Sitaram.
When contacted, a bitter Bhandari said “Main bhelpuri ka dhanda karta hoon. Aur iske baad mujhe kabhi phone mat karna.” Source

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar feels director and choreographer Farah Khan is very bossy and a lot of men are scared of her.
“There is not too much difference between Farah Khan as director and Farah Khan as choreographer. What she wants in dancing, that’s exactly what she wants from an actor in scenes also. Whatever she wants, she will get it,” Akshay told reporters here while promoting their upcoming movie “Tees Maar Khan”.
“She is very bossy and lot of men are quite scared of her,” he chuckled.
Farah has succeeded as a director so far with her “Main Hoon Naa” and “Om Shanti Om” turning blockbuster hits.
The action comedy “Tees Maar Khan”, directed by Farah, is slated to release Dec 24 and has already hit the headlines for its sizzling item song “Sheila Ki Jawani” lipped by actress Katrina Kaif.
Akshay, also one of the producers of the film, was all praises for Farah and her husband Shirish Kunder for handling the production so efficiently.
“I am just there as a producer, that’s it. Farah and her husband Shirish tackle the whole production work because I can’t do it along with acting,” said Akshay, who was in Kolkata with Katrina for the promotion of the movie.
Asked whether he is under pressure regarding the film’s success as two earlier movies directed by Farah were superhits, the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood said the pressure was on Farah.
“Pressure is not on me. Pressure is on Farah because two of her earlier films were superhit. Now she has to deliver in this movie,” the actor said.

Akshay Kumar proved that he’s an ace professional, beyond a shadow of doubt. The actor lost his maternal grandmother recently, whom he was very close to. But unlike other stars who would have hastened to cancel the day’s appointments, AK stuck to his day’s commitments.
Akshay fulfilled his duties at the funeral and thereafter completed the last leg of dubbing for ‘Tees Maar Khan’; after which he showed up at a beach in suburban Mumbai for a promotional song event for ‘TMK’.
States a close source, “Akshay went with his grandmother’s ashes to Nashik and then headed straight for the rehearsals of a song sequence that he had to perform at an awards nite. After that he headed for his ‘TMK’ dubbing, completd it, wore a helmet and went straight to Juhu beach for the song event of ‘TMK’. Incidentally, he wore a helmet and rode on his bike all the way to the music event because he didn’t want to get caught in a traffic jam. Akshay did all that he was supposed to, but he broke down inconsolably at the prayer meeting that was held later in memory of his ‘nani’.”
A stunned Farah Khan states in a media quote, “What shocked me was that Akshay came at all in the first place. Akshay was very close to his ‘nani’ who lived with them and I didn’t expect him to come at all. Most stars come up with the most weirdest excuses to cancel shoots. Akshay had a very valid reason to cancel the day’s commitments, but he did not.”

Akshay Kumar & Aishwarya Rai In Dubai

Things are heating up for Diwali releases. The lead pair of Action Replayy, Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Bachchan, are in Dubai. There will be a glittering premiere of the film tonight, which would be followed by a round of celebrations.
Akshay and Aishwarya will be back tomorrow to further pump up the promotion, leading to Friday’s release of the film. Confirms Vipul, “Both Akshay and Ash have a huge fan base in the overseas and it was imperative for them to travel for the premiere.”
Vipul stayed back in Mumbai to oversee the promotional activities within the country. He was in Ahmedabad on Monday to show the film to Indian cricket team, which was stationed there in advance, as they play a test match against New Zealand starting tomorrow.
“Yes, there was a special show organised for them on Monday. Of course, the team has liked the film a lot. However, I am now waiting for all-India audience to pass their verdict once the film opens on Friday,” says Vipul.
His anxiety is understandable. After all, Diwali releases come with huge expectations and with another major film Golmaal 3 releasing on the same day, it has to be seen if it turns out to be double dhamaka for the makers of both the films. Source
