Amitabh Bachchan, who was friends with deceased Shammi Kapoor and was seen teary-eyed at his funeral, tweets sombre thoughts remembering the actor.
“Miss a birthday, a wedding, but never a funeral, an advice given by a friend. Seeing the turnout at Shammi ji’s confirmed my opinion,” the megastar tweeted.
“It is an irony of life that one person is able to collect an entire industry only when he is not there to notice it!” the star observed.
“Jodi tor dak shune kayu na aashe tobe ekla chalo re..!! When no one hears your call, walk alone.. Gurudev Tagore,” the star signed off with the tweet.
Earlier he has spoken about his time and interactions with the ailing Shammi Kapoor.
“Shammi ji and I worked together in a few films and it was moments that can never be forgotten. His verve for life, its excitement, its energy was infectious. He would enter a room and suddenly everything would electrify. You were happy in his company and his optimism. Spending a few moments with him could pump up the adrenalin to its maximum degree,” Big B said.
Amitabh had also said that the charismatic actor, who was on dialysis for quite some time before his demise, was “tired and could not take it anymore”. Source
