Tisca Chopra Is Happy To Play Different Roles

It seems that actress Tisca Chopra is now trying to cut loose from the tag of a dedicated mother, a character she is still remembered for playing in the hit film Taare Zameen Par.
And Chopra has already started working in that direction. She recently played a glamorous socialite in the recently released Madhur Bhandarkar flick Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji and more lately as a psychiatrist in 404. Clearly, the lady doesn’t want to bind herself to typical homemaker roles and is now steering away from it too.
Talking about her roles, Chopra says, “In TZP and DTBHJ… I played a homemaker, though both had different priorities. In 404, for the first time I played a working professional. I played a psychiatrist and a teacher who is extremely intelligent and successful in her life. I took it as a challenge because after TZP, most people just wanted to cast me in a mother’s role. But now things are changing and filmmakers are coming to me with diverse and pulsating roles. Thanks to Madhur, I am not typecast anymore,” she laughs.
Chopra, who’s also been actively associated with theatre projects feels firmly that the stage culture isn’t dying. She claims, “I don’t feel that plays and theatre culture is fading. A good story will always work and there is an audience that religiously follows theatre. Though, I feel if theatre is marketed well, it has tremendous scope and can do much better than it is doing as of now.”
The energetic actress says that she is eager to do too many things and expand her horizon. But ask her if she will be okay with going a reality show and she shies away from it.
Says Chopra, “I don’t think that I have the mindset that is essential to be constantly in the public eye. I can host reality shows but I’m still uncomfortable to participate in one.” Quiz her about turning a scriptwriter, she replies, “I don’t know about that but I’d love to produce a good script in the near future.” Source

What Makes Kareena Kapoor Different From Others ?

With a whopping 13 brands riding on her, Kareena Kapoor - the only actress to stand exclusive in a male dominated industry, remains unmoved with labels of being “the best” or “the most sought after”.
Says Kareena “I don’t put a value to my worth. I’m not a product you can pick off the shelf. I have always been selective about what I endorse and the work I do. And I have always been exclusive.”
With an impressive line-up of brands, Kareena Kapoor has never been the one to rush onto the endorsement bandwagon and has always stood for brands she believes in.
“There’s a lot of thought and deliberation that goes into all my work. I endorse what I believe in. It has to be aspirational, Gen-X, go-getter…brands that signify the right mix of style and substance. Just like the youth in India today. Upwardly mobile in their attitude but firmly rooted and have the right value systems in place,” adds Kareena.
After pioneering the trend of Size-Zero in India and even having a range of laptops designed after her -Kareena Kapoor is the only actress to not just represent the brand but also make the brand.
Says a brand guru, “Kareena is the highest paid brand endorser. She has the right mix of tradition and contemporary and has phenomenal brand value. Her face sells the aspirations she stands for sells -there’s no stopping Brand Bebo.” Source

The Different Views of Kajol & Ajay Devgn

They were last seen together on screen almost three years back in Ajay Devgn’s directorial debut, U, ME AUR HUM. Now, real life jodi, Ajay and Kajol is all set to recreate their magic in the animation flick, TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO. Directed by Kireet Khurana, it is India’s first live action - 3D animation combination feature film.
Although they have done many films together, Kajol and Ajay are not on the same page when it comes to choosing films. Says Kajol, “We rarely agree on a script. So it has to be few movies every few years.” She goes on to say, “We actually don’t agree on most scripts. What he thinks of being very workable, I think them to be very boring. So it’s very rare that we both agree to do a film.”
So has the equation between Kajol and Ajay changed through the years? “The process is pretty much the same. As the years go by, you just get more comfortable. You get used to the way the other person works. It becomes more of a team spirit more than anything else,” asserts Kajol.
Quiz them about what made them do TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO and Ajay says, “TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO was a fabulous script. I would put it as a comedy film which makes you laugh throughout. In our country, till date animation films have been made which target the children. I’ve seen some with my daughter. Their humour only makes some children laugh. It doesn’t excite adults.
They think that children are stupid,” he says bluntly. Continuing in the same vein, he says, “And the movies have failed. But we like the Hollywood animation films that we see with our kids because they have the right balance. Why are we trying to make films with humour which only some kids will like and other kids have grown out of it or we have grown out of it? So our first intention was to make a comedy film which both kids and adults will understand.” Source
