Sonal Chauhan Shares Her Experience Of Working With Big B

After her debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s Jannat, Sonal Chauhan disappeared from the big screen. Now the actress (who is also a Philosophy student) is back in Bollywood with Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.
Sonal speaks to Patcy N about the film and what it’s like working with two such formidable co-stars.
Why this long gap after the success of Jannat? Did you miss Bollywood?
I did not miss Bollywood because I did not go anywhere. I was right here. I did a film with Owais Husain (son of the late M F Husain) and one film down south.
I was concentrating on my studies because of which I could not do many films. I want to study more so I will have to adjust it with my work. I think it was worth the wait because after the break, I got to do a film with Mr Bachchan, and so early in my career! It’s a very big thing for me.
After you graduate, will you leave Bollywood and explore something else? What are you studying?
No, I will be very much here, as I am here to stay. There are some more films that I am looking at. I love being here but at the same time I feel that it is important for me to study. I am studying Philosophy and next year will be my final year. Source

Aamir Khan Recalls His Experience With Late Smita Patil

Her inimitable blend of talent and beauty set her a class apart. On her death anniversary, the late Smita Patil, is remembered by cinebiz folks with express fondness. Moviemaker and screenwriter Aruna Raje, who shares her b’day (October 17) with Smita has often mentioned in interviews that “nobody could touch her in terms of talent.” Mahesh Bhatt, who helmed ‘Arth’, spotlighting Smita in the reel life version of the late Parveen Babi, often described Smita as “a real livewire.”
Among those who’ve had a brief interaction with the late actress was Aamir Khan, whose lone meeting with her also boasts of a beverage twist.
Delving into flashback, Aamir, who’s a good decade younger than Smita, recalls the time when she had come to the sets to meet his uncle Nasir Hussain, when he was assisting him way back in the 1980s.
States Aamir in a tabloid quote, “I remember Smitaji was shooting on an adjacent set. After pack up, she dropped in on our sets to meet Nasir saab. I’d heard so much about her and adored her in ‘Bazaar’. I was a huge fan of Smitaji and was very curious to have a close look at her. I ran to serve her tea.”
By a twist of Providence, it was Aamir who ushered the late Smita’s scion Prateik into cinedom with an impressive cameo in ‘Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na.’ Furthermore, he reinforced his faith in the young actor with his lead role in Aamir Khan Prouctions’ ‘Dhobi Ghat’ too. Source
