Aamir Khan’s Midas Touch Turns Delhi Belly Into Gold

‘Delhi Belly’s’commercial success has been important not just for Imran and Aamir but also Bollywood in general as it has opened a window for a new genre of cinema in Bollywood. Of course there is a segment of audience that has loathed the movie but this is the second decade of the new millennium which means there are enough followers of such cinema that have enabled heavy footfalls. For the ones with a conservative mindset, the film has precious little to offer. However the multiplex going junta which has been exposed to movies coming from Hollywood, ‘Delhi Belly’ is progressive cinema by all means as reflected in countless positive reviews that it gained for itself.
As for ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap’, it was clearly swept under the wave of ‘Delhi Belly’. It was expected as well, more so since ‘Transformers’ too had released on the same date. Many followers of Bachchan Sr. had expected that ‘Delhi Belly’ would come crashing down after Friday which would end up benefiting ‘Bbuddah….’ to show rapid progress.
Well, that was not the case to be as ‘Bbuddah…’ stayed miles behind ‘Delhi Belly’ over the entire weekend and though it did show improvement with every passing day, the jump in collections was not major enough to be termed miraculous.
Resultantly ‘Bbuddah’ ended up collecting around 6.5 crores over the weekend once it sustained itself after a so-so 20%-30% opening. The film can take solace from the fact that it has seen mostly decent to very positive reviews as well as word of mouth which means it has in it to try and stay afloat for one more week at the least. So even though a mega earner is certainly ruled out, there are good chances for this out and out Bachchan show to turn into a coverage affair at the least. Mid- level budget should further help it’s cause. However the fact cannot be denied that if only ‘Bbuddah…’ would have arrived alongside lesser competition, it would have done far better than how it has performed now. Source

Imran Khan Turns Bartender ?

Imran Khan, who recently got married to his long time girl friend Avantika Malik is enjoying a much needed break in Goa. The cute looking actor and his wife are having a gala time in Goa and Imran is leaving no stone unturned to please his better half.
The ‘Break Ke Baad’ star is learning to make exotic beverages. And since November last year, Imran had been working relentlessly. He flew of to Thailand for a short honeymoon immediately after his wedding but couldn’t do justice to his newly wed wife. So the young actor is now in a mood to unwind and make the most of the current break.
Talking to a daily, a source close to kid Khan said, “Imran is at a close friend Chinu’s restaurant in North Goa, a secluded area, frequented mostly by foreigners and some locals. Imran took off with a group of friends and his wife Avantika and visited this restaurant, where he was thrilled to watch the bartenders at work. So impressed was the actor that he expressed the desire to learn their work. His friend immediately made the arrangements.”
Imran must be a happy man now. He finally realized his wish to learn bartending.
“I am enjoying every moment of it. This is something that I wanted to do for some time now and when the opportunity came, I grabbed it with both my hands. I am not someone who drinks a lot but I love getting people drunk and learning the art of making
exotic drinks will go a long way,” the actor said. Source

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news and told the tabloid, “Yes it is. The film will be shot at places like Italy and Greece and such costumes are necessary for this script.”

Sonakshi Sinha Turns Glamorous

Katrina Kaif may be scorching the screen by turning ‘Sheila’ for Akshay Kumar for their upcoming film together. However, Sonakshi Sinha won’t quite be following suit. Yes, she would be donning a glamorous avtar for her just announced film with Akshay. However, chances are near to nil that she would be following the footsteps of much senior Katrina as of now at least.
Laughs Farah Khan who is the co-producer of the film along with Shirish Kunder and Akshay Kumar, “Rest assured, she wouldn’t be getting into a ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ mode for our next film. After all her role in the film doesn’t demand that such a situation for that at all.”
Now that could well be a little disheartening for Sinha junior who had to silently watch Malaika Arora walk away with ’seetis’ and ‘taalis’ as ‘Munni Badnaam’ [DABANGG]. Thankfully though, Sonakshi would be getting out of her ’saree’ avtar in DABANGG and would be donning a much glamorous persona.
“Sonakshi plays an urban girl in the film so yes, she would be seen in the Western outfits”, confirms Shirish for whom this would be his second directorial outing after JAAN-E-MANN, “I am aware that audience want more of her after DABANGG. With our film, there would be a handful of her as she has a role of substance. She isn’t there just for 3-4 scenes.”
Farah too is aware about the expectations and promises that there would be a different side of Sonakshi that audience will see. “After Katrina’s dance number in my upcoming film, I know that audience will expect yet another stylized yet sensual item song from Sonakshi as well. However, we can’t place an item number just for the sake of it”, she smiles.
Guess Sonakshi would have to wait for some more time before she gets her own ‘Munni Badnaam’ or ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. Source
