India International Jewellery Week; Sonam Kapoor Does It All

Sonam Kapoor is the face of the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) after designer Farah Khan Ali, who created waves at the inaugural edition last year decided to give it a miss this time due to other commitments.
The five-day event, organised by the Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC)begins in Mumbai July 31.
‘I am not showcasing at the second edition of the jewellery week as I am working on a bigger project which requires time and concentration,’ Farah, was in the news recently after international singer Beyonce Knowles wore a crown desgined by her for a new music album ‘4', told the source.
The jewellery at Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt hotel will see collections from designers like Varuna D. Jani and brands like Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam.
Top Bollywood celebrities, models and some international icons, whose names are being kept under wraps, have been roped in to walk the ramp during the event. Source

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Breakaway’ To Feature In Toronto International Film Festival

Akshay Kumar’s much anticipated films of the year, BREAKAWAY, has already been short listed as the curtain raiser of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, one of the most influential film festivals of the entire year.
BREAKAWAY is an Indo-Canadian film, directed by Robert Liebermann, produced by First Take Entertainment and Hari Om Entertainment which stars a host of popular Indian, American and Canadian actors such as Russell Peters, Anupam Kher, Camilla Belle, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Rob Lowe, International singers like Ludacris and Drake and a special appearance by Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar.
Being launched at the Toronto Film Festival is indeed a major advantage for the movie due to the expected crowds of 250,000 enthusiastic movie-goers and the great deal of publicity that the film will achieve. Its main contender for the Curtain Raiser is Sarah Polley’s TAKE THIS WALTZ.
BREAKAWAY is based on the Canada’s favorite sport ice hockey and has been shortlisted due to its strong Canadian angle and Hollywood star power, practically assuring them a screening in the Thomson Ray Hall, one of the festival’s main halls, which includes a seating of 2630 people.
