Get Ready For ‘The Preity Zinta Show’

After the likes of Big B, Shahrukh, Karan Johar and a ‘host’ of other Bollywood celebrities, it is now the turn of pretty lady Preity Zinta to make her appearance on the small screen.
The actress has agreed to host UTV’s ‘The Preity Zinta Show’ for its new Bollywood channel UTV Stars, to be produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Idiot Box division.
The show is slated to go on air on August 19. It is rumoured that Abhishek Bachchan would be the first guest.
This is not the first time Preity Zinta is hosting a show on television. Earlier she had anchored Guinness Book of World Records: Ab India Todega on Colors.
However, she had badly wanted to host a chat show, and since 2009 she was looking out for an offer. A source close to the actress revealed that Preity is highly excited about the project.
At the same time, she will also be working on debut home production movie. Source

Preity Zinta Is Learning French For Her Upcoming ‘Ishkq In Paris’

As reported earlier, “Ishq In Paris”, an Indo-French project, is Preity’s first production venture and she plays a half-Indian half-French girl who falls in love in one of the most expensive cities in the world to shoot in.
“From the start, we were very sure that Preity would get her French absolutely right with the correct accent and pronunciation. We did not want to dub her French dialogues. By the time we start shooting, I am dead sure Preity will know as much French as any native and speak the language fluently enough to pass off as a Frenchwoman,” said Prem Soni, the director.
He thinks there’s something distinctly French about Preity’s looks and added: “So many people have commented on how French she looks. I couldn’t have cast anyone else in the role.”
So expensive is Paris to shoot in that Sanjay Gadhvi had to shelve his Katrina Kaif-Imran Khan romance “7 Days In Paris” due to the costs involved.
“I’m aware of this. But for ‘Ishq In Paris’, it was always Paris or nothing. I couldn’t locate this love story anywhere else. I started writing the script two years ago. From the start I was sure it had to be Paris or nothing,” says the director who spent his formative years in Spain.
Though the director doesn’t want to reveal this, there will apparently be two different versions of the film – one for the Indian and the other for the international market. Source

Preity Zinta Gets Upset With Media On Her Shirdi Visit

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who is upset with the media intrusion on her visit to Shirdi, said that every celebrity does not go to the temple for publicity.
“Not every celebrity goes to a temple for Tamasha (publicity). Some genuinely go to pray and to disturb them is bad karma,” Preity said on micro-blogging site Twitter.
“I wonder why temples have become so commercial. Why a temple trustee`s urge to be photographed with a celebrity is entertained by the media,” she said. The 36-year-old actress went to Shirdi yesterday and is miffed with media for “pushing” her around.
“Went to Shirdi yesterday and came back with memories of media pushing me instead of the serene face and the energy of Sai Baba,” she said.
“In a rut to make anything news have we forgotten to respect God and someone`s genuine devotion,” she said, adding, “in front of God we bare ourselves and look to purify our soul. Instead of feeling uplifted. I came back feeling sad and deprived from Shirdi.”
The dimpled actress, who has been away from the limelight for a while now, will be seen hosting a TV show, `Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega`, to be aired on an entertainment channel this month. Source

Charming sweet bubbly girl, Preity Zinta is all set to make a comeback on the silver screen afresh. She is a darling of all her fans, and won many hearts with her dimpled smile. She will be seen in Mahesh Manjrekar’s upcoming flick “White”. She won’t be playing a sweet bubbly girl character in this movie; instead she will be seen portraying a sombre weighty character. Preity Zinta Looses Irfan Pathan At The IPL Auction

IPL Tean Kings XI Punjab co-owner and Bollywood star Preity Zinta said she was disappointed to lose all-rounder Irfan Pathan but glad to buy former Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist in the first session of auction for the fourth leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday.
Kings XI Punjab went all out to buy their former player Irfan Pathan but faced a fierce fight from Delhi Daredevils. Punjab was in the bidding till $1.8 million before Daredevils grabbed him for $1.9 million.
“Irfan is a wonderful player. He is a great swing bowler and a good batsman. He has a good temperament. He was my favourite player in the team and we wanted to have him. So, we are naturally disappointed, you don’t get every player you want to buy,” Preity said.
Kings XI Punjab, however, are drawing solace from the purchase of Gilchrist, who led Deccan Chargers to win the second edition of the league. They bought the retired Australian for $900,000.
“Gilchrist is the only reason I am smiling. Adam is an inspiring and fantastic player and he holds his nerves in a tough situation. I have not spoken to him but have exchanged text messages after we bought him,” she said. Source
