How Katrina Kaif Bagged Her Role In Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara?

Zoya Akhtar’s second outing ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA is eagerly awaited. Reason? ZNMD boasts of big stars and actors like Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki.
Quite surprisingly Katrina came in much later while rest of the cast was already finalised. In fact, Zoya even auditioned a lot of women before roping in the beautiful actress - Katrina Kaif. Reveals Zoya, “Yes that’s true we auditioned a lot of women before finalising Katrina.
Actually we needed a half Indian and half Caucatian girl, who would be willing to ride a bike, scuba dive and one who is physically fit. I tested a lot of people from New york and London but nothing really interested me. Also, I didn’t know Katrina at all, till I met her at a party. It was only at that time I realised ‘Sh*t man. What am I doing. She is the one I was looking for’.”
Zoya Akhtar’s ZNMD, which is touted as guys’ flick, does have scope for women as well. She says, “Of course they do. You take any example RANG DE BASANTI or DIL CHAHTA HAI or ROCK ON or any boys film the women have very pertinent parts. I mean I don’t write bad characters for women.”
Zoya is quite fond of films on raod trips and from long time she was looking forward to do something on similar lines and then ZINDAGI happened. “I love roadtrips. And I have always wanted to do a film on road trips. My first film LUCK BY CHANCE was very interior movie set in Mumbai. So this time around I wanted go outdoors. I wanted to do something visually completely different. Reema Kagti, my co-writer, and me started talking discussing about it and the idea just came in. The Badmaash Company leading lady Anushka Sharma definitely seems to be giving away vibes of being engaged. The preety lady was freshly spotted at a Juhu multiplex, where she turned up to catch a movie with a few friends and family. While she was dressed casually in a white tee, black denims and striped chappals, a couple of accessories caught everyone’s attention. The first was a huge giraffe pendant that, of course, can be termed as a whacky style statement.

Piggy Chops Is All Set To Challenge Munni & Sheila

With the success of Salman Khan’s hit song Character Dheela from Ready and Aamir’s not such-a-hit I Hate You Like I Love You from Delhi Belly (both take-offs on old-time Bollywood), rumour has it that industry’s current favourite Priyanka Chopra is all set to take on this generation’s cult item girls Sheila and Munni, in a new item song.
The industry is abuzz with the speculation that Piggy Chops’ first ever item number in the forthcoming film Tezz will be a spoof on the hit item numbers Munni Badnam Hui and Sheila Ki Jawani. The actress, who has never performed an item song per se, has reportedly agreed to give dates for song in question.
Though known for her inimitable sex appeal, and never one to shy away from ‘bold’ sequences where scripts called for it, Priyanka had categorically refused to ever do an item number in an interview. The Road Journey Of ZNMD Stars

The stars of ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA are all set to surprise you . Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, Zoya Akhtar (director) and Ritesh Sidhwani (producer) fulfilled the promised made to audience and took a road trip adventure from Mumbai to Delhi in four days.
Looking fresh and all excited to take the road trip; they were there on time. With luggage that arrived earlier. With car loaded with food, water, books, ipods; they were all ready to head to their first destination, Surat.
Kalki, who has not been well, was not traveling with team to Delhi was there to flag off the journey.
Hrithik Roshan, who was extremely excitement said, “I have never ever done road trip and this is the first time I would be on a road trip in India. To see India in rains and to travel by road is quite exciting. “
The stars will be driving through India stopping at various cities en route, Gujarat and Rajasthan being two major states.
Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer says “This film is about a bachelor trip that the three boys decide to go on. And now we are gearing up to relive the experience once again.”

Ra.One To Be Launched As A PlayStation Game

Well, bollywood films can now be available as video games. Among its many firsts, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has partnered with Bollywood blockbuster franchise to create a PlayStation game on the movie - RA.ONE starring Shahrukh Khan. The video game version of the movie will be called ‘RA.ONE - The Game’ and has been developed exclusively on key PlayStation platforms of PS2 and PS3 (through PSN download).
The game is being developed under active supervision of game development team of SCEE based out of London, UK. The game will almost act as a prequel to the movie to introduce the key film characters and the various super-powers they have in the film. The game storyline has been developed by Shah Rukh Khan so that there is an intrinsic connection between the game and the movie.
Atindriya Bose, Country Manager - PlayStation said, ‘We have always wanted to bring Bollywood IPs on PlayStation platform as the way of connecting to Indian audience. RA.ONE has the right mix of action, environment and imagination that is required to make a good PlayStation game, and with Shah Rukh Khan immense passion and understanding of PlayStation games, we have chanced upon a very unique opportunity of a great game with Indian IP.’
The game provides an opportunity to the players to play as the key characters of the film: Ra.One or G.One. Beyond these two characters, a few other key characters will also be included in the game. Will Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One Live Up To The Expectations?

Time passes very fast and you won’t even believe that ‘Ra. One’ is just about 100 days away from release, one wonders whether Anubhav Sinha, the film’s director, is scared of all the expectations from the Shahrukh Khan starrer.
“Why should I be scared? And frankly, I don’t really care about what others have to say. You tell me, would the film have managed such curiosity even a year before it’s release? This is the reason why I keep telling the younger film makers that every opportunity has a potential pitfall but one should not be scared about picking it up on way”, philosophises Anubhav.
“Well, I am aware of all the ‘if-s’ coming my way and more than happy to be grilled and face all volleys with my chin up”, smiles Anubhav before proceeding with yet another hectic month ahead that would be occupied with VFX supervision. Source

Aamir Khan’s Midas Touch Turns Delhi Belly Into Gold

‘Delhi Belly’s’commercial success has been important not just for Imran and Aamir but also Bollywood in general as it has opened a window for a new genre of cinema in Bollywood. Of course there is a segment of audience that has loathed the movie but this is the second decade of the new millennium which means there are enough followers of such cinema that have enabled heavy footfalls. For the ones with a conservative mindset, the film has precious little to offer. However the multiplex going junta which has been exposed to movies coming from Hollywood, ‘Delhi Belly’ is progressive cinema by all means as reflected in countless positive reviews that it gained for itself.
As for ‘Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap’, it was clearly swept under the wave of ‘Delhi Belly’. It was expected as well, more so since ‘Transformers’ too had released on the same date. Many followers of Bachchan Sr. had expected that ‘Delhi Belly’ would come crashing down after Friday which would end up benefiting ‘Bbuddah….’ to show rapid progress.
Well, that was not the case to be as ‘Bbuddah…’ stayed miles behind ‘Delhi Belly’ over the entire weekend and though it did show improvement with every passing day, the jump in collections was not major enough to be termed miraculous.
Resultantly ‘Bbuddah’ ended up collecting around 6.5 crores over the weekend once it sustained itself after a so-so 20%-30% opening. The film can take solace from the fact that it has seen mostly decent to very positive reviews as well as word of mouth which means it has in it to try and stay afloat for one more week at the least. So even though a mega earner is certainly ruled out, there are good chances for this out and out Bachchan show to turn into a coverage affair at the least. Mid- level budget should further help it’s cause. However the fact cannot be denied that if only ‘Bbuddah…’ would have arrived alongside lesser competition, it would have done far better than how it has performed now. Source

Deepika’s Wish For A Katrina Like Song

Deepika Padukone wanted a song like ‘Mora Piya’ from the film ‘Rajneeti’ to be picturised on her — just like the way it was picturised on actors Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Known for the melodious music in his films, Prakash Jha, for his upcoming film ‘Aarakshan’, was surprised when he heard of Deepy’s request. A source adds, “Deepika is a smart girl and knows exactly how to put forward her wishes. Before the film’s shooting, Deepika requested via sms to Prakash Jha to feature a love ballad on her, with a happy face smiley at the end. And her wish was granted.
When asked about the request, Deepika said, “I remember how ‘Mora piya’ was such a rage. I remember messaging him (Prakash Jha) to please give me a good romantic song in his new film because Prakashji has a really good sense of music. I was really looking forward to shooting this song and it’s turned out amazing. Till now, Mora piya was always played on loop on my mp3 player wherever I was travelling. But now its ‘Seedhe point pe aaona’, which is such a playful and cute romantic song.”
The song features Deepika opposite actor Saif Ali Khan. Just like the Ranbir-Kat chemistry, there is a lot of buzz about Deepika-Saif’s camaraderie, which was visible in their earlier film ‘Love Aaj Kal’. But we’ll have to wait and watch to know if this number becomes a hit amongst the youth… given that the song is a result of Deepika’s sweet persuasion. Source
