The Chameli Look Is All Set For Kareena’s Wax Statue

Recently we had informed you that the latest Bollywood celeb to be joining the wax works at Madame Tussauds is Kareena Kapoor. Well, the leggy damsel will now be seen in her Chameli look at the museum.
For her wax statue, various looks were discussed, however the maximum number of votes went to Kareena’s look in her film Chameli, for which she won many awards. Besides, the museum wanted her wax statue to appear in Indian wear. Hence, her Chameli look was finalised.
Kareena’s look in the film was designed by Manish Malhotra and executive producer Rangita Nandy, who scoured the streets of Mumbai to get the look of a sex worker down pat. With this, we guess Manish’s work will last forever along side Kareena. Source

Aishwarya’s Ouster Is Kareena’s Entry In ‘Heroine’

After much talkings about Aishwarya’s pregnancy, Madhur Bhandarkar has finally found his ‘heroine’. The filmmaker has at last zeroed in on Kareena Kapoor for his dream project ‘Heroine’.
The film was in trouble after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was to play the lead in the film, disclosed her pregnancy.
Since then many names had cropped up to replace Ash. Finally Kareena has agreed to step into Ash’s shoes.
Interestingly, Kareena was Madhur’s first choice for the film,but Bebo had shown reluctance as she felt the script was too bold for her. Source

Asin Equals Kareena’s Record Of 100 Crores

Till 20 days back Kareena Kapoor was the only actress in the history of Indian cinema to have two films to her name that collected over 100 crores - 3 Idiots and Golmaal 3. Now Asin too has made it to the elite list with first Ghajini and now Ready repeating this feat.
“Only six films so far have crossed the 100 crores mark - 3 Idiots (202 crores), Endhiran/Robot (estimated at over 150 crores), Dabangg (140 crores), Ghajini (115 crores), Golmaal 3 (108 crores) and now Ready (110 crores and still counting)”, informs a trade source, “This makes it two films for Kareena Kapoor, two for Asin and one each for Aishwarya Rai and Sonakshi Sinha that have crossed this major milestone.”
While Ready is all set to cross the collections of Golmaal 3, it is also obvious that Asin would now manage to topple her own Ghajini record and go further up in the list.
“What further makes this remarkable for Asin is the fact that she has managed this super feat of a 100 crores double bill in her first three films itself. Perhaps this also wipes away all the deficit that came from the debacle of her second film London Dreams”, quips an industry observer.
Incidentally, both Asin and Kareena started their career around the same time. While Kareena was first seen in Refugee (2000), Asin made her debut with a Malayalam flick in 2001. However, it was a late entry for her in Bollywood with Aamir Khan roping her in for Ghajini. Call it a coincidence but Aamir has been the driver of the success story of both Kareena and Asin with 3 Idiots and Ghajini respectively.
Currently shooting for Housefull 2 in London, Asin was ecstatic when informed about the feat of Ready in India. “I wanted to wait for the best films to come my way and thankfully Ready came calling. How do I feel about this being the second film of mine to cross the 100 crores mark? Well, of course I am ecstatic, who won’t be”, she says.
Well, seems like Kareena and Asin would have a lot of catching up to do over next few weeks. Reason being that Asin’s Tamil blockbuster Kaavalan (2001) is now being remade with Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan as Bodyguard. With the couple arriving fresh out of the blockbuster success of Ready and Golmaal 3, one can well expect Kareena to be going one-up when it comes to 100 crores grossers.
