Makers of Joker won’t have to look anymore for Katrina Kaif or other A-league actresses for performing an item number in Joker. They have found one pretty much in-house, what with Sonakshi Sinha herself stepping in for a slot that was available for grabs.
This well-thought of decision was taken last week by Shirish Kunder and Farah Khan who felt that there was no harm in getting their own leading lady gyrate to the tune of this ‘desi’ number that is expected to spice up the narrative of this Akshay Kumar starrer.
“This item number was recorded many months back but the hunt was on for the item girl. Though there was no one in particular who was sent any feelers since there are still a few more days to go before the song goes on floors, Shirish started looking at Sonakshi as a big option that was available right in front of them”, says a source from the film. Sonam Kapoor Replaced Sonakshi Sinha

Right from the time a script is picked upon for Superstar Rajinikant, everything at the pre-production, production, post-production and probably even ages after his movie is out, everything that happens surrounding him is nothing but news.
Now the latest we hear is that, our B-town’s tall damsel Deepika Padukone was not the initial choice for the film by the team. Instead, the first choice for the film was the ‘Dabangg’ beauty Sonakshi Sinha, who will now be introduced to Tamil cinema through ‘Viswaroopam’ where she will be cast opposite Kamal Haasan, the other pillar of Kollywood.
It is said that, KS Ravikumar strongly believed that Sonakshi would be perfect for the role, but then Superstar had something else to say.
Rajini, who has been a good friend of Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha right from their ‘Asli Nakli’ days in 1986, didn’t feel it was right to share on-screen romance with Shatrughan’s daughter.

Sonakshi Sinha Is Working Hard To Get In Shape For Race 2

Sonakshi Sinha, the gorgeous actress, who is in Race 2, will have to rev up the feline quotient to the optimum as director duo Abbas-Mustan want to do away with her ‘gaon ki gori’ image completely. So the actress is busy shedding extra pounds.
“First, I had to lose weight for my debut in Dabangg. Now I’ve to get into even better shape for Joker and Race 2. For the last two years that’s all I seem to be doing. Losing weight. But I am fine with that. Because it’s important for me to look good,” said Sonakshi, 23.
After playing the demure village girl in in Dabangg, Sonakshi will get into a serious kickass mode for Race 2?.

Sonakshi Sinha Turns Glamorous

Katrina Kaif may be scorching the screen by turning ‘Sheila’ for Akshay Kumar for their upcoming film together. However, Sonakshi Sinha won’t quite be following suit. Yes, she would be donning a glamorous avtar for her just announced film with Akshay. However, chances are near to nil that she would be following the footsteps of much senior Katrina as of now at least.
Laughs Farah Khan who is the co-producer of the film along with Shirish Kunder and Akshay Kumar, “Rest assured, she wouldn’t be getting into a ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ mode for our next film. After all her role in the film doesn’t demand that such a situation for that at all.”
Now that could well be a little disheartening for Sinha junior who had to silently watch Malaika Arora walk away with ’seetis’ and ‘taalis’ as ‘Munni Badnaam’ [DABANGG]. Thankfully though, Sonakshi would be getting out of her ’saree’ avtar in DABANGG and would be donning a much glamorous persona.
“Sonakshi plays an urban girl in the film so yes, she would be seen in the Western outfits”, confirms Shirish for whom this would be his second directorial outing after JAAN-E-MANN, “I am aware that audience want more of her after DABANGG. With our film, there would be a handful of her as she has a role of substance. She isn’t there just for 3-4 scenes.”
Farah too is aware about the expectations and promises that there would be a different side of Sonakshi that audience will see. “After Katrina’s dance number in my upcoming film, I know that audience will expect yet another stylized yet sensual item song from Sonakshi as well. However, we can’t place an item number just for the sake of it”, she smiles.
Guess Sonakshi would have to wait for some more time before she gets her own ‘Munni Badnaam’ or ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. Source
