The wonder girl Amrita Rao, a proud vegetarian, has shot for a new pro-vegetarian advertisement for animal rights organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India.
The 30-year-old looks casual in a pair of shorts and a clingy T-shirt that reads ‘Powered by Tofu’ in the ad, through which she proclaims: “I Am Amrita Rao, and I Am a Vegetarian”.
“I call being vegetarian the Wow Rao diet. Wow because I know that being vegetarian is the best thing I can do for myself, the animals and the environment,” Amrita said in a press statement.
Proud to be a vegetarian: Amrita Rao
“Pulses can get pulses racing, while corpse cuisine slows you down. Kick the meat habit and you’ll look and feel better than ever,” added the actress, who featured in films like Main Hoon Na and Vivaah.
Rao joins a growing list of celebrities like Lara Dutta, Pamela Anderson, Shahid Kapoor, R. Madhavan and Anil Kumble, who have teamed up with PETA to promote a healthy vegetarian diet. Source

Neha Dhupia Feels Awkward In A Kissing Scene - Strange But True
She has been forever known for her bindaas image and hasn’t blinked an eyelid when it comes to being seen in a dare-bare avatar, especially in her earlier lot of films. However when it came to kissing for her upcoming film, she was nervous like never before. While the fact that the man opposite him was a veteran (and an unconventional leading man) like Raghuvir Yadav did play in her mind, Neha Dhupia was also conscious about the presence of close to 100 odd people on the sets when the scene was canned.
“Neha and Raghuveer share a kiss in GANDHI TO HITLER. Since she is playing Eva Braun, the girlfriend of Hitler (played by Raghuvir), and their relationship forms an integral part of the film, it was but obvious that their intimacy is shown on-screen. The scene was explained to her by director Rakesh Ranjan Kumar way in advance. However when it came to the actual shoot, Neha did develop cold feet,” informs a unit member.
Though Neha has kissed for camera earlier, she had to bring herself up to the task. Also, since GANDHI TO HITLER is a biopic and meant for global viewing, the actors couldn’t have afforded even a minor slip.
“Well, I just did it and got over it in quick time,” is all that Neha is willing to say when asked about her kiss with Raghuvir. However prod her further about her decision and she opens up, “See, kissing or anything else that you do out of ordinary for camera is never a comfortable thought. Whether it is jumping from the top a building or diving into deep water or kissing - everything comes with its own nervous moments. Of course I too felt inhibited.”
Tell her that she sounds like a changed woman today and Neha quips, “When there are 100 people staring at you as you kiss, there is nothing charming about it. It may all look intimate on screen but as an actor, you just want it to get over in a jiffy. Trust me, there is no fun.” Source

Aishwarya Rai Requests The French Honour To Be Postponed
Beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai, who was to receive an honour from the French government in New Delhi on Wednesday, requested officials to postpone the ceremony in the wake of the Mumbai blasts. The actress also maintained a minute’s silence to mourn the deaths.
“Thank you all for being here. The current situation has really disturbed and shocked all of us. I thank the French embassy for being supportive and considering the sensitivity of the situation. They have been kind to consider me and my family’s request to postpone the celebration till another time. We as Indians can’t go ahead and celebrate in such a situation,” Aishwarya told reporters at the event.
Mumbai was hit by three blasts that left at least 20 people dead and over 100 injured on Wednesday evening.
The event for honouring Aishwarya with “Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters” was being held in New Delhi, but her heart was with those affected by the tragedy.
“The terrible blasts have shook us, but we shall stand strong. They (terrorists) should get it straight that we won’t let them succeed. You cannot break us, we all believe in deep strong Indian spirit. You will not get the better of us. God bless us and Jai Hind,” added Aishwarya, who was accompanied by her actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan.
The 37-year-old’s appearance was highly anticipated as it was her second public outing ever since the announcement of her pregnancy. She did not disappoint by being away from shutterbugs, and looked extremely graceful in a yellow and parrot green sari, with the natural glow of an expectant mother.
French Ambassdor Jerome Bonnafont said: “The terrible series of blast has shocked all of us. It seems the time is not right. I pay my condolence and want the Indian people to know that the government of France is with them.” Source

Expectations Are Really High With Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Today the stage is all set to continue with ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ at least at the urban centers. The film’s classy promos have worked with the elite which means multiplexes are pretty much sold. While an opening over 70% at multiplexes seems on the cards, one does regret the lack of a single chartbuster track that could have enticed mass audience as well.
Given the fact that it has been a dream run at single screens and Bollywood is smiling all over again with audience giving their nod of approval on a continued note to films like ‘Murder 2', ‘Double Dhamaal’ and to an extent ‘Delhi Belly’, one would have wanted somethin similar for ZNMD as well.
However one tends to believe that the makers won’t be overtly worried as for them the target audience was pretty much the urban junta which means things have pretty much fallen in place for them. Since Hrithik too is being seen in a light hearted role after relatively serious ‘Kites’ and a somber ‘Guzaarish’, his fans would be happy to lap up the film. Zoya Akhtar’s last release ‘Luck By Chance’ was an entertaining affair and given the kind of sensibilities that she and her brother Farhan carry, one does expect a good sensible outing in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Emraan Hashmi Is The Top Priority For Vishal Bhardwaj
It seems it’s Emraan Hashmi or nothing for Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Daayan! After some actresses said no to working with the actor in the supernatural thriller, the filmmaker made it very clear that Emraan was his top priority.
Said a source: “Both Vishal and (producer) Ekta Kapoor believe Emraan is the fulcrum of the script and the only non-negotiable member of the cast.”
“Vishal thinks Emraan has huge potential. He wanted to cast Emraan in 7 Khoon Maaf in the role that Irrfan Khan eventually did but it didn’t work out.
“Emraan is in demand with several topnotch filmmakers. Rohan Sippy who wanted to cast him in Dum Maro Dum is casting the actor in his next. Dibakar Banerjee chose Emraan at the cost of losing Katrina Kaif in his new film Shanghai,” the source added.
Vishal will shoot Daayan in the next couple of months.
The hunt for the three leading ladies is almost over.
Said a source close to the project: “The minute it was made known that all the three leading ladies’ parts were equally important, a queue of girls showed up at Vishal’s doorstep.”
The last we heard, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chitrangda Singh and Mahie Gill had been shortlisted for the three parts. Source

Mumbai Serial Blasts - Bollywood Pays Condolences To The Victims
Many celebrities from bollywood have expressed shock at the serial blasts that rocked the metropolis last evening.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma said, “Apparently its Kasabs birthday today and it looks like they are celebrating with bombs rather than with crackers.”
“Shocked to hear the news of the Blasts- Prayers for all who have suffered. And Be safe and stay home,” actor Riteish Deshmukh said.
“Cowards strike again! Condolence to all who have lost someone dear. To the rest, please do not panic. Get home safe,” actor-producer Farhan Akhtar said.
“Hope and pray that you people are safe and home,” actor Abhishek Bachchan said. Actor Shahid Kapoor tweeted: 3 blasts in Mumbai .. Please head home !!!!!

John Picks Priyanka Over Kareena
John Abraham, the original Dhoom star is making many controversial comments about his co-stars without even carrying to play his old diplomatic self.
According to reliable sources, ‘John has recently drawn flak from Kareena’s fans after the actor rated Priyanka Chopra much higher in hot-quotient than Bebo. John thinks that Priyanka is the perfect embodiment of sexiness and style and the actor does not mince words while spelling it out.’
In the past, Kareena had reserved some unkind remarks for the actor when she called his expressions on screen ‘wooden’ on a chat show. It seems John has still not forgotten the words and perhaps that is the reason for him to rate Kareena lower on the sexiness scale.
John has chosen to get into controversy when his girlfriend is no longer with him to defend him. Remember how Bipasha Basu used to fight for her man? Well, let’s see how John will take on Kareena if she chooses to react to this spark of controversy. Source

The Terror Attacks In Mumbai Might Affect The Box Office Business Of ZNMD
The latest terror strikes in Mumbai have become the focal point of every concerned citizen. This in turn has taken some attention away from this week’s releases and one of them includes Zoya Akhtar’s film ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA.
Bollywood observers cite facts that film releases that have coincided with terror strikes in Mumbai have always struggled to find audiences in the city. No matter how well the film is made, a terror strike just before the release date is the most unfortunate thing a filmmaker can experience.
Add to reliable sources, “Zoya Akhtar and her team are worried about the way things have shaped up just before the film is set to release. The terror strikes in Mumbai have taken away all the attention from films to news channels and publications. In this situation, Zoya has nothing but to call herself unlucky by chance.”
Here’s wishing good luck to Zoya and her ZNMD team as the film gets set to release amidst the shadow of the latest terror strikes. Source

Deepika Shares Comfortable Vibes With Saif
In the film AARAKSHAN, though Deepika Padukone would be getting into a different zone with Saif, she is more curious than anxious to know how her pairing would look like this time around.
“When you have worked with someone earlier, it obviously leads to a certain amount of comfort level from the very beginning,” says Deepika who has just stepped back into Mumbai after spending months in London shooting for two of her films, “That initial awkwardness goes away because there is a sense of familiarity that sets in. Having said that it wasn’t like we were catching up on the lost times or anything. Our interaction was primarily about the work that we were doing together and that’s about it. So yes, we were both doing our own thing. He is the way he is and is great that way.”
With things heating up for AARAKSHAN, it is quite obvious that with men like Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Manoj Bajpai coming together, heavy duty drama would indeed take centre-stage. However given the fact that other actresses in her age group and league are concentrating more on being a part of quintessential Bollywood affairs than rely on song and dance affairs, what makes Deepika push the envelope and mix films like AARAKSHAN that deal with topical issues.
“I guess I was always so ready to be a part of a film like this. Somewhere out there I wanted to be a part of a debate where the issue of reservation is addressed,” she says in a serious tone, “When you watch the film, you would realise that there is a message that it is trying to send out. When you look at it closely, there is a plus as well as minus side to ‘reservation’. I am playing someone who is torn between both these sides and it was this dilemma that excited me the most. I was genuinely impressed with what Prakashji narrated to me and knew what I had to do this film.” Source
